Hi, I am descended from Thomas Ira TARVER (1839-1915) and Mary E. WHITE (1841-1915). Their marriage certificate says "Mrs." suggesting she was married before. They were married 9 Oct 1865 in Amite co., MS. Earlier this year I attended a reunion with several other Tarver descendents who were told her maiden name was WILSON. On Ancestry.com I found a Mary E. WILSON marrying John WHITE on 17 SEP 1861 in Amite Co., MS. There were a couple of family trees listing this Mary as the daughter of John Croford WILSON and Mary Elizabeth Rachel TESTON. They lived in Liberty, Amite Co., MS. Their daughter was about the same age as my Mary as well. Could their daughter be my Mary? I also have old pictures of a Crawford WILSON, which suggests a possible connection to this family. I think he could have been Mary's brother, but not sure. Thomas and Mary Tarver later moved to Winn Parish, LA and finally settling in Franklin Parish, LA. They are buried at Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, Franklin Parish, LA. Any thoughts on this? I appreciate any help. Thank you, Holly California --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - now with 250MB free storage. Learn more.

I'm a descendant of James Wilson b. 04-02-1791 Lancaster Co. PA and his son John Harmon Wilson b. 1825 Ross Co. OH. I notice on this Rootsweb site that no one seems to have explored DNA testing as a promising technology for genealogical research. Only males can contribute useful DNA samples and therefore I'm ineligible. I hope that some WILSON males will participate and share the results on this Rootsweb site. Actually the Wilson project at http://home.earthlink.net/~wilsondna/index.htm has been up for a couple of years, and I have seen it discussed on the Wilson rootsweb list from time to time (Search the archives at http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl . I just looked and there are 64 participants, of which 53 have returned kits. You can find the surname project on the website familytreedna by searching on Wilson. -----Original Message----- From: wbm [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 29, 2004 10:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [WILSON-L] DNA Genealogy I'm a descendant of James Wilson b. 04-02-1791 Lancaster Co.
