    1. re Indian traders Myrick-Wilson
    2. I found Myricks on my data base of Wilson records in NC. May, 1807 Halifax Co: James Wilson of Warren Co to James Turner of same. 915 ac adj. Mill Swamp, Plumbtree Branch the path leading from Col Willis Alston, John Myrick DBK 21, 49 [Alstons are said to be an Indian family or at least part Indian. Very successful family] Warren Co's parent was Halifax Co. Also a note to myself "A poster is searching for Bobbitts, Jenkins, King, Myrick & Wilson in Halifax Co on the message board. She names Joshua Wilson of Littleton as gggrandfather and also a banker who lived in Oxford (Granville, Co evidently), a great Uncle. She says that Joshua Wilson was the maternal grandfather of her grandfather John King of Halifax." Myrick, John Thompson dec'd , Mead, Indian Branch & Trent Bruce were all adj. a sale Thomas Pace to Chas Pasteur in Halifax In 1805, there was a State Grant to John Purnall adj. Samuel McCulloch and Myrick's 200 ac tract, Indian branch & J. Turner Also in Bute Co a Mathew Myrick & John Myrick Francis Myrick in Northampton NC and same name across the border in Surry Va 1738. Here in 1738, Francis appears with Hicks/Hix and with Thomas Wilson as well as a man thought to be a son of our Epaphroditus Moore whose dau married a Wilson. There is also John Myrick in Surry 1768, Howell Myrick in Southampton Va 1777 (cut off of IOW Va) Are we getting somewhere? Elizabeth WILSON, born: 1754-56 in Guilford Co., NC or White, Habersham Co., GA, died: Abt. 1821 in Jefferson Co., AL or Bradshaws near Giles County Line, TN, (may have been the sister of John WILSON and Mary WILSON who married Andrew McCLURE and their parents names are not known by me at this time but trying to find.) Elizabeth WILSON married Abt. 1769 in either Guilford Co., NC or White, Habersham Co., GA, to David McCRACKEN, Jr., (RS,) born: April 18, 1747 in St. Mary's County, Maryland or Guilford Co., NC, died: Bef. Your information shown much further below regarding the Cherokee traders and Cherokee tribe members named WILSON and those out of Brunswick County, Virginia in the early 1700s as well as North Carolina and I would assume probably later into South Carolina, Georgia, etc. makes me think that there are probably those in this group that are connected to the WILSON-PIERCE family group that married into and is descended from the Cherokee family group it is believed that I descend from that married into my MYRICK family group that appears to have, originally, been out of the area of Brunswick County, Virginia in Abt. 1700, earlier on Isle of Wight/Surry Counties, that was then in North Carolina and South Carolina with my 4th great grandfather, James MYRICK, born: Abt. 1740 in Orangeburgh District, South Carolina, who married Mary BROOKER, and I descend through their son, William MYRICK, born: Abt. 1788 in Barnwell County, South Carolina, (formerly Orangeburgh District and Winton County,) who married Elizabeth "Bettie?" PIERCE, born: 1790 in Old 96th District, South Carolina, whom is believed to have been the daughter of Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) born: Abt. 1749 in Frederick County, Virginia, who died in the early 1840s in Alabama, and his Cherokee wife, Sophia/Sofia HUNTER/ poss. aka BOWLES, born sometime later than her husband, died: 1849 in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas, whom is believed to have been the daughter of Cherokee parents, father: Bold HUNTER, born: Abt. 1750 in North Carolina, and mother: Beaver TOTER/TOATER, known to have been in Georgia in the 1830s and listed as a deeded land owner. This Bold HUNTER is possibly the same Bold HUNTER, aka DUWALI/D'IWALI as the Texas Cherokee (Chief) John BOWLES, Sr., (said to be 1/2 Cherokee from his mother and 1/2 Scottish from his "Trader" father, ? BOWLES,) and he was born in Abt. 1750 in North Carolina, died: July 16, 1839 in East Texas. The aforementioned Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) and Sophia/Sofia HUNTER had several known children including the George PIERCE who married Elizabeth McCRACKEN, born: 1776 in South Carolina, who was the daughter of the aformentioned Elizabeth WILSON and David McCRACKEN, Jr., (RS.) Looking forward to hearing from any of you who might know anything about the names of the parents of Elizabeth WILSON and any other connecting Cherokee/Trader information for them and/or any of the other families mentioned. In advance, I thank you. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

    1. James M Wilson Montgomery, TN
    2. Thank you so much for all of the lookups. Now the question is if James Wilson Jr could be a different man than James M Wilson, whose name I'm thinking might have been James Moore Wilson. 1812, Halifax Co, NC: SANDFORD WILSON(x) & JAMES WILSON, JR both of Montgomery Co, TN granted power of atty to Joshua Wilson of Halifax to sell their rights to a negro man Charles which SANDFORD WILSON sold conditionally to Wood J. Hamlin formerly the property of Charles Hamlin dec'd. Wit: Jas Mallory, N. Jinkins. The following year, the same slave was sold again by Joshua Wilson of Halifax, this time as agent for SANDIFORD & JAMES WILSON Jr both of Montgomery, TN.

    2. David G. Miller
    3. Janean, do you know anything about Julia A. Wilson of Loudoun Co., VA? I don't even know if that is her maiden or married name, but I have been curious about her because she sold land in Greene Co. to people I am researching and I have run across the Chinn name as I have told you previously. 2. Janean Ray
    3. Nadine here is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance. Janean William Wilson b. abt. 1745 m. Lucy or Jane (possible names) Sons: #1 William R. Wilson b.29 Jun.1765 d. 17 Dec. 1794 most likely Loudoun Co. Va. m. 26 Mar. 1790 to Jane King b. 1768 d. 10 Dec. 1843 White Co. IL. Children were John Knox Wilson b. 1792 d. 1841 (married unknown) w/children Susan Chaplain Wilson b. 1822 m. Burr Powell Noland and William A. Wilson. His brother was William Wilson b. 27 Apr. 1794 in Loudoun Co. m. 27 Apr. 1820 (White Co. IL) to Mary S. Davidson. NOTES ON WILLIAM The Chinn Book has several pages on which William WILSON and his family are mentioned, but the author appears to not know his origin. The earliest document she has for him is dated 20 Jun. 1795, Martinsburg, W.Va. Court Records [Berkeley County]: "A[administration?] of the estate of William WILSON Jr. [sic] dec'd granted to Jane WILSON his widow and James KERNEY, they having complied with the law. (James KERNEY was a br[other] of m[other] of Jane KING WILSON. Her f[ather] Philip KING mar. Aug. 19, 1766 Mary KERNEY.) [Chinn Book, p. 251] #2 John Wilson b. 1772 d. 21 Feb. 1821 Middleburg Va. m. 8 Jun 1796 to Elizabeth Travers Chinn d. 27 Feb. 1835 (daughter of Rawleigh Chinn) Children were: William Travers Wilson b. 1797 Frances Tarpley Wilson b. 27 Apr. 1799 Middleburg m. 31 Dec. 1821 to Israel Ball Thompson d.14 Dec. 1882 Rawleigh Chinn Wilson b. 10 Jun 1801 Middleburg Lucy Jone Wilson b. 4 Nov. 1803 Middleburg. m. 31 Jan 1826 to Ferdinand "Berry" Crebs John Stretchley Wilson b. 7 Jan 1805 m. Harriet Blue Jane Elizabeth Wilson b. Sept 1809 Middleburg m. Philander Berry. Samuel Porter Wilson b.Sept. 1814 Jacob Dodridge Wilson b. Sept. 1817 both boys died young. #3 Jacob Wilson b. 16 Jun 1774 (Chester Co. Pa) d. 18 Apr. 1843 White Co. IL m. Margaret King b. 27 May 1771 d. 2 Nov. 1854 White Co. IL. Children were R. Adaline Wilson b.1802 John M. Wilson b. 1811 near Bull Run PWC Va. James L. Wilson Oliver H.P. Wilson b.2 Aug. 1818 PWC Va. Mary E. Wilson Jane Wilson Notes on Jacob Jacob was at Harper's Ferry in 1798 and served at the White House in the War of 1812 under Col. William Washington. Jacob's father fought in the REv'n war and was wounded at Paoli and captured. There should be a brother of Jacob named Silas that fought at Brandywine. In 1811 Jacob and Margaret were living in Prince Wn Co. Va near Bull Run as that is where son John M. Wilson was born. In 1824 they moved from PWC to Jefferson Co. va. (W.Va.) and in October 1828 they moved to Illinois #1 William and #3 Jacob both married sisters, Jane King and Margaret King. Parents were Philip King and Mary Kearney. I'm looking for anything on these three boys. Anything leading to their parents whom I believe may never have come to Virginia. I believe they were from PA as best evidence is that of Jacob's birth. I do know that William died when the boys were very young and his son William I know was born in Loudoun Co. I know that is a lot of information but the more one has to work with and look at the more sense stuff YOU have could make. Thanks Janean. > > > ==== WILSON Mailing List ==== > No virus or other alerts, ever, period > One offense may result in temporary or permanent banishment from the list, without warning. > > ============================== > Jumpstart your genealogy with OneWorldTree. 1. Re: VA & TN LOOKUPS
    2. Nadine, I need information on Thomas Wilson in Virginia. I have him b. ca 1760 d, probably ca 1806. He married Elizabeth Mynatt on 5 Apr 1780 in Botetourt County. The Mynatt family around the time of the marriage lived in the area of present day Christiansburg and Thomas and Elizabeth lived "on the south branches of the North Fork of Roanoke" for a short time following the marriage. That's were I lose him. Elizabeth and their children moved to Grainger County, Tennessee around 1810 where they lived next door to her brother. No sign of Thomas so it is assumed he had died prior to the move. Thanks, Gail Mynatt Zeigler
