    1. [Wilson-L] Morgan Wilson, Henry County, VA 1860
    2. Mark
    3. Wilson is sure difficult to research. I'm still dead ended on a Morgan Wilson that shows up in the 1860 Federal Census for Henry County, VA. His household includes: Morgan Wilson 47 born abt 1812 John Wilson 17 born abt 1842 Eleanor Wilson 13 born abt 1846 Wm Wilson born 10 abt 1840 (my ancestor) Eliz Wilson 89 born abt 1770 His wife Martha Odle died in 1858. The Odle family moved from Rockingham County, NC to Henry County, VA around 1840. You can follow their marriages into other Henry County families. George Washington Odle (he changed to Odell) appears to have left many descendants with variations of George Washington in their name. There is also good family history on OneTree going back to the 1400's for Odle ancestors. I've tried working off Morgan and Eliz using Family Tree Maker 2005 and its ties to various genealogy resources. Other than finding that a second Morgan (J.) Wilson lived in the same area at the same time; I have not found any more history on these people. It appears that Morgan was a very popular first name for Wilson's back then. Do any of you know anything more about this Morgan? J.M.Wilson Charlotte, NC

    3. I have a John Wilson of Scot-Irish decent who, according to my GGrandmother who died in 1946, came first to New York and then they moved to Lancaster, PA. The family was known for keeping hotels. I have been able to find John's buriel in Drumore Twp, Lancaster Co. According to the family Bible John is listed with wife Ruth and their children but according to his will he list other children that are not in the Bible, which has me beleiving that there was a prior wife. We have not been able to find the buriel of the second wife, who died in 1836. John was 32 years older that his second wife. This family is related to an Ebenezer Wilson, who is listed in John's will as a nephew, who I found in the 1850 and 1860 census in York Co. Our family has been in York Co. since my GGG Grandfather James Wilson moved there in the 1800. There must have been a problem as his father John, left him a dollar in the will. Does anyone have a John Wilson who arrived in New York from Europe and not sure where he went? Cheryl
