    3. Kay, The name Nelson Wilson is quite rare, especially if it is a white family. A few more African American Wilson families use the name Nelson. In 1860 there were some 5 or 6 children (b. TN) living with our ELIZABETH WILSON, a widow of Gibson Co, TN. All of her known children and grandchildren are accounted for and these kids are a total mystery. An older boy of 17 is living with Elizabeth Wilson's son nearby and possibly still another is found with the stepfamily of widow Wilson's deceased husband. By the next census, Elizabeth is dead, her son is dead and there is no trace of these mystery kids. One is named NELSON WILSON and the Irvin surname was used as a middle name for one of the kids. We do have a middle TN family who used the name Nelson, but the age is not right. The mystery Nelson Wilson was quite a young child in 1860. Massengills were connected with Wilsons in one of our NC counties. I'll have to go back and check which one. 3. Hello, Darrell, My Wilsons were in Greene Co., but I don't recognize any of the names in your message. My line goes back to Samuel Wilson in Cecil Co., MD, b. before 1714. His gt.gt.grandson, Ephraim Wilson, married Sarah Wright in Greene Co. in 1823 and died there in 1849. Samuel's gt.granddaughter, Jane Wilson, daughter of Ephraim Wilson and Agnes Kirkpatrick, died in Greene Co. after 1860. That information was given to me by Jim Slone who is from Greene Co. (but no longer lives there). Catherine Wilson, Samuel's granddaughter, daughter of Ephraim Wilson and Isabella Hutcheson, married Abner Lee in Greene Co. in 1785. Samuel Wilson, grandson of the first Samuel, married his cousin, Mary Wilson, in Greene Co. in 1795. This Samuel was also the son of Ephraim and Isabella. Mary was the daughter of Richard Wilson and Mary Hutcheson. Thomas Jackson Wilson, gt.grandson of the first Samuel and son of William Wilson and Hulda Sherrill, was born in Greene Co. in 1799. I did not reseach these names myself, but have collected them from distant cousins. I suspect more descendants of the original Samuel were in Greene Co. at one time or another and have not searched them out. Do any of these names sound familiar? 3. Hi Gladys Are you talking about the George Wilson who died prior to 2 January 1783 when his will was probated. He had at least 6 possible sons. Robert, John, Andrew, Samuel, Solomon and David according to the land transactions that took place after his death in Anson County. I have very little information on these children but I want to know more about his son John who was in Bulloch County Georgia by 1799. I need to find out if he is the John Wilson who is in Washington County Alabama in 1810 with William, Hugh, and William Wilson. Thanks! 1. Invite Please!!
    2. Ethelmae Page
    3. I too would like an invite , Please!!! I have totally hit a brick wall in trying to chase down my Abram WILSON. He was born in Indiana (could be Illinois) 1840-1844. His mother's name was Martha. He joined the Civil War from St. Clair Co, Illinois. After discharge from Civil War he landed in Texas County, MO and married Cornelia Mary COLVIN in 1870. Children: Manerva Jane b 1871, Oliver Mahlon born 1873, Silvester Young b 1875. Those children were all born in Missouri. After Silvester's birth Abram and family went to Woodruff County, AR. He died there just a few days before his youngest child was to be born. Cornelia promised to name the baby after Abram's mother if it was a little girl. It was a girl and she was named Martha Abram b 1879. I feel that somehow Abram WILSON is connected to the WHITE and GOBBLE family and that they most likely came out of the southwestern, VA area. I believe in 1870 Abram was living with Robert GOBBLE and his wife Minerva Jane WHITE in Texas County, MO and working for a family named SMILEY. (listed twice on 1870 census) Because of some Quit Claim deeds in Texas County, MO. I believe Abram was somehow related to Joseph WILSON who was probably the son of David WILSON and Elizabeth and that Abram (or that family) was also somehow connected to a person named PIPPIN. All of this is speculation at this time. I need to do more research to prove or disprove my theories of the moment. I would love and invitation to another WILSON site and will repost my query on this WILSON site. I have not sent out information on this site for quite some time. Good luck to all WILSON researchers. I have not heard of any WILSONS who seem to make it easy for us. They seem to have been an independent lot....striking out on their own in all directions!!?? Ethelmae (WILSON) PAGE [email protected]

I do know the difference.. Just let my fingers over ride my mind.. which is not hard. HOWEVER.. I think we as members of this list need to spend more time on the subject at hand.. WILSON Surname. If we would include our email address then we could send messages to persons that we need to address. NOT THE WHOLE LIST. Kay Adams [email protected]

    2. Kay Adams
    3. WELL WELL ANN, How interesting that you find this Nancy Wilson in the same area as our Nancy with the a Massengill as father of her son. I know that Nancy and her sons lived in an area of Anderson CO that later became Union Co. The old home place was on what is now Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area. This area also had another name I think it was called Walnut Hill. There is a group of people who had families who lived there that were meeting in Knoxville at least once a year. I will look for the address of the lady who is in charge of this association. Graves for Jesse and Nancy along with wife of Jesse are burried in what is called Stout Dossett cemetery which is on part of the land that belonged to the Wilsons. I also know that there is another Wilson Cemetery on the area. I. A. Wilson Cemetery . The family for sometime has thought this Augusta Wilson might be father of Nancy. I have list of who we think are his children.. Will send to anyone who wants it. However other family members are not sure of this family connection.. Thanks for the information on your Wilson line.. Just might have a connection there. Kay
