Hi Linda Wilson, My Earliest Known Ancester is Joseph Wilson d. 1810 Burke Co., North Carolina. He married Mary (unknown) Wilson. They were both born about 1765 in unknown place. They had three known children Joseph L. Wilson born 1808 Burke Co., NC., Mary J. born unknown and died unknown and Sarah R. born unknown and died unknown. The two girls were probably born in North carolina but not proven. I have tons of info on Joseph L. and his decendents, my directline. Our Y-Chrome DNA is R1b1c7 which is "Northwest Irish". I would love to hear from related persons. I just found on Find-A-Grave a listing for John Franklin Wilson 1771-1849. Born in Ireland, ³John came to America with his father, who was killed in his front yard, during the Rev. War.² John died in Greenland, Washington Co. Arkansas. Spouses were: Sarah Miller 1768-1795 and Elizabeth Friend 1772-1826 Children listed in John Franklin Wilson¹s will Wm. Friend Wilson; John Wilson; James Wilson; Joseph Wilson; Thomas Wilson, Sarah Wilson; Eliza Wilson m. Moore; Mary Ann Wilson m. Newton. I am trying to determine if this Elizabeth Friend may have been the daughter of Jonas Friend and Sarah Skidmore of Virginia. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Patty-Friend-Thompson

Hi, I have a Parthenia Wilson born between 1820-1824 in Pittsylvania Co VA and I think she is a daughter of George Legrand and Katherine Pass Wilson. She marries in 1844 to Charles Henry Frazier and moves to Carroll Co VA. They have many children but two sons are named Greenberry and George Frazier. Greenberry Wilson was the brother of George Legrand Wilson. If you check the 1830 and 1840 census records George and Katherine have more children than are listed for them. The name Parthenia comes from their aunt. Does anyone have any info on this pair? Rachel Grace
That's my question too. It's affecting the trees on Ancestry. Anyone who has a tree on Ancestry & has made any changes as of Nov 25th to that tree, is affected. What do they think we buy those subscriptions for?? Thank you for contacting Ancestry. Unfortunately, our search index for the family trees hasn't updated since the end of November. I am unsure if you have uploaded your tree as a new tree, changed the tree name, or added the people that you are searching for since that time, but if you have done any of these things since November 24th of last year, this would be why your tree isn't showing up on a search. Typically our search index for the trees updates about once every two to four weeks, but there have been some issues with this update going through properly the last couple of time that it did go through, so our developers are currently working on this issue and hope to have the updating process going again soon. Until then, the only way for others to get onto your tree is for you to send them invitations to the tree. Ancestry.com.

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [WILSON] William L Wilson Ironton Ohio 1840-1933 Date: Mon, 30 Jan 2012 10:14:06 -0500 From: Vernon Simmons <verns1936@verizon.net> To: RWilson7@aol.com Rick Thank You for your assistance. I am trying to identify with WILSON side of family seeking a picture of Katherine Wilson, aka Catherine AH Ball (maiden name), aka Hessie Harvey as she married William Wilson in Summers Co. WV. She was my great grandmother by her 1st marriage to John Wesley Harvey. All three and their son Clarence Wilson are buried in the RICHMOND/HARVEY family cemetery in WV having been brought back from Ironton.. I have the WV obits but not the Ohio ones or death certificates. Where can I locate the death certificates for them on line? As they died in Ohio they are not in WV vitals. Craig County, Va. As the Wilson children are the most recent (more so than the Harvey 4 in late 1800s). I was hoping someone there might have photos of their Grandma/great grandma Katherine Wilson as none are known to exist in WV. Can exchange family info on her background with them. Two of the Harvey girls, Josie (Harvey) Deeds and Luella (Harvey) Smith are listed in William and Katherine's obits as also living in Ironton, Ohio. Thanks again for your reply& assistance. I found a death record for William Lewis Wilson on 8/9/1933 and it lists his parents as Andrew Wilson and Mabaly Pinkley. Burial was in Hinton, WV. The birth place of the parents were listed as VA. William's birth location was listed as Craige (sp?) County, VA. The informant was his wife Katherine. Rick Wilson New York, NY In a message dated 1/30/2012 4:08:14 A.M. I've "rescued" an old photograph of H. O. FARNUM which was taken at the Jones Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with the young man in the photograph likely in his 20's at the time it was taken. The photograph was recovered with others from the Class of 1878 at Brown University including both students and faculty. In reviewing Brown University records I did find Henry Ormsbee FARNHAM listed as a member of the Class of 1878 so I'm assuming that this is a photograph of Henry. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Henry or Harry and his family: Harry Ormsbee FARNUM was b. 2 Jan 1857 in Providence, RI to parents Alexander FARNUM and Charlotte Barbara ORMSBEE. Harry died 30 May 1905 in Providence, RI at the age of 48, with death records listing his wife as Ellen WILSON. Census records provide the following information: 1860 census of Providence, RI: Alexander FARNUM, age 29, a Merchant, born MA Charlotte FARNUM, age 27, born RI Harriet FARNUM, age 3, born RI (I believe incorrectly listed as a female) Frank FARNUM, age 1, born RI + 3 Servants 1870 census of Providence, RI: Alexander FARNUM, age 39, a File Manufacturer, born MA B. I wonder if other folks have a Clarinda. It seems like a bit of an unusual name and was what I was able to use t help identify the Bill Clinton Wilson family of Hempstead Co., Arkansas She was the son of John and Jane (Reeves) Wilson. John was born on the Green River, Tenn 1790. Most or all of the children were born in Hempstead Co. Arkansas Phoebe
