My great great grandparents were Seth Wade, Sr., b. Nov. 14, 1811 Russell Co., KY, died Jan 25, 1862 Russell Co., KY and Elizabeth (also known as Zantippie/Antippie) Wilson. She was born Oct. 30, 1811 Russell Co., KY and died Apr 21, 1876 Russell Co., KY. I am trying to determine the parents of Elizabeth Wilson. I'm pretty sure her father's name was Moses Wilson, probably born abt. 1788 Henry Co., VA & died abt. 1851 Russell Co., KY. What I don't know is her mother's name. Names have been thrown around like, Elizabeth Hopper and Peggy Milton but I'm just not sure. Elizabeth Hopper would be my guess because of the age (she was born 1781) so would have been about 32 when Elizabeth was born. Peggy Milton just does not fit because I have her birth as 1762 and she would have been 49 years old. Not impossible I guess but highly unlikely, in my estimation. Surely there is someone out there that ties in with this family. I have some errors in my Wilson file and I want to make sure I'm correct, before trying to correct them. Thanks for any help you can give. Betty Wade Putnam bwadeputnam@fairpoint.net
Legal guardianship for mother and children sought and granted to Elizabeth Ann Wilson. Penal bonds required of Jacob to support his children. Excerpt as follows: Magdaline Wilson and siblings: Jacob, Henry, Ann Maria, James Cline Wilson and John Identifies Elizabeth Ann Wilson as the wife Jacob, seeking support. Subsequent deeds filed by Samuel Sammons a guardian of Magdaline, shows a transfer of property to Henry who was a brother and not father. Guardianship filed by Elizabeth Ann Filed initially on Oct 1, 1841 to Richard Hushney? Surrogate Subsequently on November 9, 1841 issues a penal bond to Jacob Wilson requiring specific support to each child. Magdalene?s bond noted as a penal type and involves the largest sum. Is anyone researching the WILSON families that lived in Knox and Saline Townships in Jefferson County, Ohio? I am particularly interested in Peter WILSON (b. 1800 PA) and his wife's family (Susannah PEGG, b. 1802 PA). Peter and Susannah Pegg Wilson had a number of children but I only know of the following: Lewis - b. 1822 OH, m1. Catherine MAPLE; m2. Margaret J. STEWART (widow of McCORKILL) Peter - b. 1825 OH, m. Lovina HOUSEHOLDER John - b. 1828 OH, m. Elizabeth HOUSEHOLDER Martha - b. 1834 OH, m. Alfred WOODS Edward - b. 1835 OH, m. Samantha CLINTON George - b. 1837 OH, m. Angeline GROVES Henry - b. 1840 OH, m. Sarah Ellen MYERS Susan - b. 1842 OH, m. Sylvester ROBB Alfred - b. 1842 OH, m. Anna COPE William - b. 1845 OH, m. Mary Louise SMITH I believe these Wilsons are related to several other Wilson families in the area, some of which came from Fayette County PA. Peter Wilson may also have been the son of an Edward Wilson and a brother to a William Wilson who married first Nancy PEGG and then Jane WINN (dau of Dawson WINN). Thanks in advance, Rick Wilson New York, NY
The 1920 Oakman, Walker Co AL census shows the following family. Can anyone tell me anything about the following: Abram F Wilson, age 69 (estimated 1851), born in GA; shown as widower Jennie Wilson, age 34 (est: 1886), born AL; shown as divorced daughter of Abram Mary F Ferguson, age 16 (est: 1904) born AL; shown as single/grandaughter Who was Jennie married to and why is she shown as a Wilson instead of her married surname? Is Mary F Ferguson the daughter of Jennie or is she a grandaughter by another of Abram's children? Trying to find out if this Abram is the same Abram born ca 1851 to William and Sarah Wilson who were living in Walker Co GEORGIA in 1850 and in DeKalb Co ALABAMA in 1860. Thanks, Paula
I have info on this family, first found in GA (they lived in the Dohlonega area) before 1850. They later moved to Ozark County then Howell County MO. One son was John A. Wilson, born in GA. Thanks for reading and any info. Karen

Our Haplogroup is R1b1a2a1a1b4f. Our earliest known ancestor is Benjamin Wilson, b. ~1770 somewhere in VA. Most of the matches have been with surnames Ireland and Downing. We've also concluded that the connection between the people is somewhere back in Northern Ireland. Benjamin's sons were named James, Benjamin and John, all very common first names, but you have a James Wilson. We felt that the most likely location in VA that Benjamin Wilson was from was Brunswick Co., VA. He was apparently married to Elizabeth, and died before 1831 in Wilson Co., TN. Some family stayed in the Wilson Co., TN area. Others moved on to Obion/Gibson/Dyer Co., TN, and from there to SE Missouri and to Texas. We've ruled out the Col. Benjamin Wilson with 30 children, the Benjamin Wilson in the Norfolk area, and the Benjamin Wilson in Isle of Wight Co. Can you tell us more about your Wilsons? Found John Franklin Wilson in Find-A-Grave; the "Paddy" name was found in the Friend Family Library, Friendsville, MD. John Franklin Wilson 1771-1849 is buried at Greenland, Washington Co., AR. The information regarding his will, naming his children, etc., is posted on the Find-A-Grave website. Elizabeth, his wife, died 1826 in Green Co., Kentucky so she is not found in the same cemetery as John Franklin Wilson. Thank you for the reply Ed. No, Joseph Friend, father of Elizabeth 1772-1826, who married John Franklin "Paddy" Wilson 1771-1849, was another Joseph Friend. This Joseph Friend (father of Elizabeth (Friend) Wilson) was born 1742 died 1806 in Bedford Co., PA; married Rachel Rose 1751-1832. She died in Ohio. After Joseph's death, she and her sons moved to the now Fairfield Co., OH. This Joseph Friend 1742, was the son of John Friend 1713-1778 of Friend's Cove, Bedford Co., PA I am still trying to find Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph (son of Jonas) who married Elizabeth Davisson. I show Elizabeth married John Wilson but you said, and evidence supports this, that the John Wilson she married was not the John Wilson, son of William Wilson, Sr. and Elizabeth Blackburn, although their son, William Jr., married Elizabeth Friend's sister, Sarah Friend. Still sorting through the tangled web.
