If at first you don't succeed, try, ........again. Looking for help on Jane (Willis/Wills/Williams) b. 23 Aug 1804 in NC d. 5 Nov 1889 Morgan Co. IN. Some of the "family" says her maiden name was Willis and some say Wills. Me, I don't yet know. I do have a Randolph NC Marriage Bond for Daniel Mc Daniel and Jane Williams dated 13 Oct 1828 and their census enumerations for 1830 in Randolph Co. NC and 1840 through 1880 in Morgan Co. IN. I also find a free white female under 5 in the 1830 census and a free white female 10 under 15 in the 1840 census but not in the 1850 census where I get names of other issues. Not knowing if the unnamed female was a Williams or Mc Daniel only adds to the interest (none of the other "family" claims knowledge of this female child)! Jane claims NC as place of birth in all census records and fathers pb NC and mothers pb blank in 1880 census. All issues claim their mother and fathers pb NC in census enumerations. Ron
