Died: 1935 OBITUARY: Hazleton Standard-Sentinel, Mon. Oct. 14, 1935 Dr. Jonathan R. Willis, of Dover, Delaware, died on Saturday morning. His death is believed to have been caused by illuminating gas in his laboratory. He was born and raised in Alberts, graduated from Johns Hopkins University and has been practicing medicine in Dover the past ten years. Besides his widow, formerly of Cambridge, Md., two sons, Jack Jr., and Duke, at home, survive. Also the following brothers and sisters: Fred, of Carbondale; George, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Ruth Searfoss, of Scranton; Mrs. Libby Weaver, of Allentown, and Mrs. Henry Shafer, of Mountain Top. Dr. A.E. Shafer, of this city, is a nephew of the deceased and Mrs. W. H. Russell, wife of Rev. W.H. Russell, pastor of St. John's P.M. Church, this city, is a niece. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 1:30 o'lcock and interment will be made at Cambridge, Md. Rev. and Mrs. Russell will leave early this morning to attend the funeral.
