Dear List, I haven't done much research on my Willis side but this is what I have. My maternal Great Great Grandfather was George WILLIS who was born at Basington County of Hants, England about 1818 to the parents of Stephen and Sarah WILLIS. He married Agnes HEDINGHAM in England and one child named Lydia was born before they sailed to South Africa. Their children were: Lydia, James (my Gt Grandfather) born 26 November 1846 at Sea, George, Sarah, Rachael and Charles. The story goes that my Great Grandfather James, was put in to a little shoe box when he was born at sea ! It seems my research is in England. Do any names ring a bell ?
