    3. I get migraines looking for a Dr. Willis who married Sarah Casteel Brett circa 1880 in MS, TN or KY....They had three sons. One son had three daughters and lived somewhere around Arizona in the 1940's. I think one daughter was named Nell. Thanks, Elizabeth PS...I wonder if we are related to BRUCE WILLIS...haha... Does anyone know his family line? Just curious :) --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 1. Thomas Willis, English Physician
    2. I was reading an article on Migraines and saw this reference below, I have no idea who this Thomas Willis is but if he's someones out there and I'm certain he is, thought I'd pass this info along. Enjoy! Pam As far back as the 1600s, the prominent English physician Thomas Willis suggested that headaches are caused by a rapid increase in the flow of blood to the brain. He theorized that the suddenly bulging blood vessels put pressure on nearby nerves and that these in turn trigger the pain. A variation on Willis' idea became the favored explanation for the cause of migraines. (An important network of blood vessels at the base of the brain bears Willis' name.) 1. Thomas Willis of Leybourne and Morpeth
    2. Thomas R. W. Longstaff
    3. The 1851 census shows Thomas Willis, age 74 (which places his birth in 1777), a widower, living at 57 Market Street in Morpeth. He is listed as the head of the household and living with him are two granddaughters, Dorothy Longstaff, 12, and Jane Margaret Longstaff, 1. The record also gives his place of birth as Leybourne, in Yorkshire. His occupation is given as a retired printer. I have a question and a comment. I have been able to locate a town named Leybourne in Kent, but have not been able to locate a town by this name in Yorkshire. Does anyone know of such a locale? Also, I have found a little more information about Thomas Willis. He married Dorothy Nicholson and, while they were living in Morpeth had 8 children. I have the records of the Christening of these 8 children: James in 1813, Margaret in 1814, Dorothy in 1816, Jane in 1817, Thomas in 1819, William in 1822, Thomas in 1823, and Walter in 1826. If these names are in your family tree, I would love to share information with you.

    3. Claudia, I'm interested in your line of Willises. My line starting with John B. Willis, born in New Jersey (abt 1825 - lots of speculation on that date) and went through or near the states you listed. He married Elizabeth Strange Thurman who was born in Ohio, in Illinois, on to Iowa where many of the line was born, it moves to Dundy, NE (border county of Cheyenne Co., KS) and then the line ends up in Cheyenne Co., KS. Where in Kansas did your line end up at? I may be way off base, but there are alot of similarities. I'm only showing 2 John's in my tree, but both with the middle initial of B. 1. Sarah Willis born approx. 1820 NC
    2. Gena, I say your post on the Willis board. I'm wondering if you've every some across Sarah. We know very little about her. Sarah was born about 1820 in NC. Her parents were G. W. Willis and Mary (LNU). I've been told that the G. W. probably stands for George Washington, but have no proof of this. I believe G. W. was a traveling Minister. Sarah married Lewis S. Meharg and they both died in Ohatchee, Calhoun County, AL. They were the parents of thirteen children. Do you have anything on her? Thanks for your help! (Anyone else have suggestions on how to find Sarah PLEASE let me know.) Thanks!! Linda Sue Reasor xfilelsd@aol.com
