    1. [WILLIAMS-UK] Williams of Little Rissington
    2. Meredith Williams
    3. Hello all I am researching my Williams family from Little Rissington and surrounding areas in Gloucestershire. My gg grandparents were Samuel (b 1789) and Hannah (b 1788) Williams. My great grandfather James (b 1826) emigrated to Tasmania some time prior to 1867. He married Matilda Wright in Bothwell, Tasmania on 24 February 1867. I have not been able to find out anything about when James emigrated to Tasmania. Is anyone researching this family? -- Meredith Williams Perth, WA

    3. Dear Lister, This is a complete longshot - but I am hoping someone out there might be able to help? I have come across an old Army regimental photo in some family 'junk' but cannot see any obvious link to my family. To try to unearth a link but also out of interest I am trying to trace some of the soldiers named on the photo. The photo was taken of the '18 Medium Regiment of the Royal Artillery' in 1953. Possibly at the barrack HQ in Larkhill, Wiltshire, UK. In it there is an E. F. WILLIAMS - does anyone know anything about him? Many thanks Mark

    3. Joan White, Thank you. I appreciate it very much.Another avenue I am trying to look at I found a genealogy tree someone had posted who said that Thomas & Hannah Williams 1st daughter Mary Hannah Williams born Jan. 10, 1860 Wisconsin on the United States Census say she was born in St. Marylebone, London, England. But like I said on the United States Census I found she is living with her parents & it says she was born in Wisconsin.I did ask the person who posted that she was born in St. Marylebone, London, England & they said it was a relative to a cousin or something where they got their information & they would contact that person & I didn't here back anything. The only proof is the United States census that says she was born in Wisconsin. I have not found a birth record for Mary Hannah Williams born 1860 in Wisconsin yet.But I haven't found Thomas & Hannah's marriage in Wisconsin yet either. I do very much appreciate any help & thank you very much.Rose On Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 4:46 AM, Joan White <jswhite@telepak.net> wrote: > I will check my books for further info. This is what I know ELIJAH WILLIAMS born c1832 Cheltenham parents John Williams & Ann Edwards married 13th April 1853 ELIZA GLENISTER born c 1832 Cheltenham parents John Putman and Jane Glenister Blackhall. Elijah & Eliza came to Australia 1853. I am now trying to find records of Elijah's family in England. As far as the other Williams go I am only just started and at the moment I am stuck, in my family tree I have a LUCIA TURNER I have found a marriage for her to a PERCY A. WILLIAMS 1904, but in searching the 1911 census there is no trace of them I am not sure if they are missing or the 1911 is not completed. The only other clue I have is a photo taken in England of Lucia with a child called Enid. Lucia was born on Manchester. Any advice or help would be appreciated, Thanks and regards Mary Stone - Australia ------------------------------ To contact the WILLIAMS-UK list administrator, send an email to WILLIAMS-UK-admin@rootsweb.com. 1. [WILLIAMS-UK] PETER WILLIAMS abt 1776-1781
    2. Mike and Di Basnett
    3. I am looking for information about Peter Williams born abt 1776-1781. Although not born in Cheshire he spent most of his adult life in Chester. At the time of his marriage in January 1802, to Elizabeth Miller of Chester, he was a gentleman's servant. They had two sons John and Charles. He died in June 1849 and at that time was living in Henry St Chester. He was born in England but I don't know which county so any information would be useful.

    3. I imagine there are many Williamses in Liverpool so I hope someone can help. I am looking for my great-aunt's relatives from the Liverpool area. I don't have much info at all but what I do know is that my great aunt was Florence Pollitt who I believe married John Williams (no other info is available). Florence was born in 1888 and she and husband John adopted a son Godfrey. It is this family I would like to get in touch with. Florence also had sisters Esther b1890 and Lily who died in a nursing home in Liverpool in the 1970's or 80's. Florence's father was James M Pollitt. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. SH - UK
