The following new message has been added to the Williams Genealogy board under the new topic of Thomas Dyer Williams of La Grange, Illinois... -------------------------------- For a number of years I have been trying to discover as much as I can about the above, who was the elder brother of my great-grandfather. He was born in Bristol, England on 31 August 1849 and emigrated to the United States in about 1870. After ten years in Philadelphia he went to Chicago, marrying Mary Alice Brown there on 10 January 1883. The first child (Alice Cary Williams) was born in Spring Park, Illinois on 18 December 1884, and according to US Census records the other five children were born back here in England and were naturalised afterwards. They were Grace W. Williams (b. August 1886), Clara B. Williams (b. August 1888), Ada Williams (b. March 1890), Gladys V. Williams (b. January 1896) and Thomas P. Williams (b. January 1898).
