The following new message has been added to the Williams Genealogy board under the new topic of Susannah Williams - Bastardy Case - Lincoln Co., NC 1814... -------------------------------- I found the following in the Lincoln Co., NC court minutes 1813-1824, Film #C.060.30002: July Sessions 1814 Bastardy Susannah Williams vs. David Linebarger on motion of Robert Williamson Esqr It was Ordered by Court that Suannah Williams be allowed 7 [lbs.]-10 for the first years maintenance of a base born child begotten on the body of the Said Susannah David Linebarger being the Reputed Father 5 [lbs.] for the Second & 2 [lbs.]-10 for the third & last year William Smith acknowledged himself Security for the payment of the Same first years allowance paid the two las [sic] allowances paid David Linebarger on a charge of bastardy by Susanah Williams gave bond with Wm Smith Secy for maintainance.
