Hi, my name is Lynda Jacobs Cook. My mother is Reba Jo Williams, born in Quitman, AR. Her cousin Grover did the DNA for me, as all of my uncles have died. I was first exposed to genealogy at a family reunion back in 1995, but didn't actively start exploring it until after I retired in 2000. I had this nice indentured list of family names and dates, but no sources. I started trying to validate the data I had and got hooked. When we retired we sold our business and our home in Gardena, CA and moved 50 miles north to Santa Clarita. It's a nice area with hills around us, but growing much to fast for the infrastructure. Both my husband and I are Rotarians and enjoy doing work with them for both the local and the world community. We have 3 children between us, Mike, Anita and Gerri. All are married and we have 3 grandchildren, 1 boy and 2 girls. We love to travel and have been to over 100 countries. Are getting ready to go to Dubai for a cruise to Rome, through the Suez canal. We really enjoy meeting people in other areas and learning about local customs. I was able to add a generation to my Williams family when James W. Williams matched me with a 24/25. He had bible records that showed my David Williams (married Elizabeth Van Hooser) as the son of a David Williams. We are now trying to find out if her uncle Abraham Van Hooser's wife Mary Williams is of the same line. I suspect that she was the sister of the earliest David, but have not been able to validate this. It is said that her parents were William and Jane Williams of Chester Co., PA. The only William and Jane we've found that are likely suspects are Jane Yarnell Reese, who married (2) a William Williams. This marriage is too late to make her the mother of David and Mary, so if anyone has any info on this line, please let me know. Lynda
