The following new message has been added to the Williams Genealogy Forums, on the Williams Genealogy board under the existing topic of Re: William Williams 1727-1791... -------------------------------- "Also looking for a Joseph Williams who married Martha Parrott" I am a descendent of Rev. Joseph Williams, Jr. and Martha Parrot. There is an extensive amount of research that has been completed on that line and available on the internet. Google "Lodwick Williams" and follow through Lodwick's son Edward. There you will find the Rev. Jospeh Williams Sr. There is unproven link is between the Rev. Joseph Williams, Jr. and the Rev. Jospeph Williams, Sr. If that link is proven the oldest male ancestor in what is now the US appears to be previously mentioned Lodwick Williams, an indentured servant from Wales who arrived in Jamestown, VA via St. Christopher in 1664. After he served the term of his contract he relocated to Albemarle,North Carolina. The Jamestown website has copies of the list of indentured servants that mention Lodwick. I have tired to locate Lodwick's ancestors in Wales with little success though I did discover one interesting lead. Some researchers have tried to link Lodwick to Thomas S. Williams of the Mayflower. This has been disproven. Lodwick may have been the son of another Thomas Williams, also an indentured servant who went to St. Christopher at the same time as Lodwick but this remains unproven.
