    2. fellow williamses, is it possible for the dna data i now have (25 markers) to be further studied to see if i have indian and/or black ancestry? this issue is really getting under my skin. jay williams bluffton, sc In a message dated 7/10/2008 8:14:31 P.M. He received no messages, but just couldn't find himself one day. I wrote to FTDNA to explain; they wrote him to confirm he wanted in the project and it was corrected. FTDNA has great service, but computer glitches from time to time. SO...you should hear from them within 24 to 48 hours on this. Best wishes, Emily Tester: Daniel F. 3. Jay, If you do not have a haplogroup which designates you as Native Amer or African-Amer then on your all male line you are not. Some people (not geneticists, however) believe one can have an autosomal test to indicate what percentage they are of what ethnic groups. This is not accurate. It depends upon the company's database and the reliability of those who previously tested to know from where their ancestors came and what nationality they are. AND...as autosomal markers remix with every conception this could mean that you could score X% of a n ethnic group and your full sibling could be entirely different. All that leaves much room for error. You could however, determine where you think the Native Amer or African Amer is and bring that line down on either an all male or all female line and have a person who is in direct descent of one or the other test. If their haplogroup indicates the particular ethnic group then you only need to worry about your connection to them being VERY solid. Hope this helps. Emily Williams desc./Tester Daniel F.
