    1. [WILLIAMS] Re: WILLIAMS-D Digest V02 #253
    2. Hi Mary, don't know if we're cousins or not, but sure hope so, I have a Williams family in Dekalb Co. Tn., and the name "Monroe" runs in this fam. also. the earliest I have is David Williams, late 1700's, who died 1840-1850, his children say he was b. in Va. (from census) one of his sons, my gr.gr grandfather, was Jesse Williams-b. 1813 Tn. Jesse had a son John Monroe Williams-b. 20 Oct. 1853, prob in Dekalb Co. Tn. David m Elizabeth VanHooser in Wilson Co. Tn. in 1812,the son, Jesse, m Lutitia Clayborn/Claiborne prob in Dekalb Co. Jesse and his brothers and sisters migrated to Mo. where some of them remained, but Jesse and his sister, Nancy, who had married George Washington Bennett in Tn., moved on to Van Buren Co. Ark. and lived the rest of their lives. brother William Carroll Williams remained in St. Francois Co. Mo, where decendents still live today--I'd be happy to share any information with anyone on this fam. Evelyn
