According to a cousin, my great-grandmother Lucy Luizer Holland Hollis was a full blooded Cherokee, but all the records indicate that she could not have been. My great-grandfather's mother however was likely to have been at least part Cherokee. Gg-grandmother Nancy Williams that was born ca. 1834 in GA. She married Jessie Hollis in Morgan Co. GA during the the year of 1848. Jesse died around 1872 and Nancy allowed the children to be placed into foster homes. Several of their descendants had very dark skin and other Cherokee features. I am trying to determine who was port Cherokee. Does anyone know of a good online source for the Dawe's and other Rolls? Are their any Williams on the list who are part Cherokee?
