I am trying to identify the wife of the Joseph Carpenter in the record below and there is a chance that she is a Williams, judging by the record. 5 March 1711/12. Pursuant to the Last Court's Order, Hannah, a mulato belonging to Francis Williams, being summoned to appear at this Court to answer what should be alledged against her by Alice Williams, wife of said Francis, for her threatening and abusing her, the said Alice and the Court having heard the evidence of Grizell Carpenter, John Williams, Joseph Carpenter and Elizabeth Williams.
