He married SUSANAH RUTHERFORD SMALLEY 1829 in Probably Texas, daughter of ANDREW SMALLEY and MARTHA RUTHERFORD. She was born Abt. 1806 in North Carolina, and died in Matagorda County, Texas. Notes for HENRY BECK WILLIAMS: WILLIAMS, HENRY (1803?-?). Henry Williams, with partner John T. Bowmanqv one of Stephen F. Austin'sqv Old Three Hundredqv families, received title to a sitioqv of land in the area of present Matagorda County on August 21, 1824. He was probably the same Henry Williams, born in North Carolina around 1803, whom the 1860 census listed as a farmer, aged fifty-six, living in Matagorda County with his fifty-four-year-old wife, Susan R. of Kentucky, and five children, all born in Texas. In January 1827 one Henry Williams was present at a meeting that declared loyalty to the Mexican government and protested the Fredonian Rebellion.qv In October 1835 a Henry Williams was among the volunteers under George Morse Collinsworthqv who signed a pledge to give protection to the citizens of Goliad, provided that they support the republican principles of Mexico's Constitution of 1824qv (see GOLIAD CAMPAIGN OF 1835). A Henry Williams appears on several muster rolls from the Texas Revolution,qv a! nd two Henry Williams and one Henry B. Williams are listed as receiving bounty land warrants in 1837 and later for various spans of service in the Texas army. Henry H. Williams of Houston, who may or may not have been the same man, was appointed Republic of Texasqv consul at Baltimore in 1838. In 1840 one Henry Williams was among the jurors in the Matagorda trial of Albert G. She married PERTILLER LEE May 27, 1844 in Matagorda County, Texas. He was born January 06, 1817 in Union County, South Carolina, and died June 19, 1893 in Calamine, Sharp County, Arkansas. Notes for HARRIET MINERVA WILLIAMS: Nickname: Hallie Death of Harriet Williams in Volume IV, Number 24, January 26, 1858, (From "Footprints", Feb. 1980) "Died at this residence of her husband, near the Colorado River, Matagorda County, on the 29th of November 1857, of nervous fever, sister Harriet Minerva Lee. The deceased was the daughter of Henry Williams, one of the few surviving members of Austin's Colony of three hundred, and was born in Matagorda County the 23rd of February 1828.
