    3. Hmmm, this interests me for several reasons. My line includes MANKINS who married MILLS who married WILLIAMS and RAMEY. I can tell you that many of these folks were originally Quakers who left the church willing to fight to free slaves. The migration path for these families was MD & VA > NC > KY > IN > AR > MO between the Rev War and Civil War. I do not have the people you mention in my files, but I would not be surprised to learn they were all related. If any of this "gels" with what you know, contact me! Ramey on May 4, 1846 in Paintsville, Johnson co. Ky. I am looking for information on my great great great grandparents Thomas J. Ramey who married Sarah Williams on May 4, 1846 in Paintsville, Johnson co. Ky. at the home of Edward P. Hill a son of Spencer Hill and Lucy Ramey. Sarah Williams was born on May 11, 1829 in Knox co. Tenn. and she died around 1908 to 1912 her parents were listed on her death record as Charles Williams and Hannah Johnson. Sarah died in Johnson co. Ky. and she lived on Ramey branch, Volga, Johnson co. Ky. Any help any one can give me on this family I would appreciate very much. It has been said that Sarah Williams Ramey descended from Phillip and Ann Williams who are buried in Volga, Johnson co. Ky.
