    1. [WILLIAMS] Rev. War Pensions
    2. Hi Allen....I found 2 of my ancestors' Revolutionary War Pension applications at the regional facility of the National Archives and Records Admin. in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. If you've never been to one of the NARA facilities or are not familiar, you can go to www.archives.gov. In the upper right-hand corner of their home page, you'll see a "Where is...? Where do I...?" window. When you click on that, it will give you a drop-down menu from which you can choose "location/hours" and that will tell you where all the facilities are throughout the USA. I think most of the regional NARA facilities have ALL the applications on microfilm (regardless of which state the applications were originally filed). Additionally, most State Archives facilities (I think) have the applications on microfilm as well. (I believe I noticed that the Tennessee State Archives had them when I was researching there last winter). But just because an ancestor served in that war doesn't necessarily mean he filed a pension application (i.e. - he and his spouse may have died before the pension program was initiated). You'll have to go through an index to see if there is an application on file for your ancestor(s). If anyone else has better advice than this, please jump in here! There may be an index on-line (Library of Virginia???) Good luck Allen! Let me know if you need more help. ~Jane
