    1. [WILLIAMS] Re: roll call

    3. I notice that many have responded with their roll call Williams's, which is great and I hope several brick walls are broken this time around, but I'd like to pass along a few suggestions to help those of us reading the messages, and eventually help the person posting the message. Please put all dates that you know of in your message. I've noticed a few messages that give no dates what so ever. Dating makes a huge difference, especially when you are dealing with names as common as Williams. Please note locations whenever possible. I've also noticed messages with plenty of dates, but it doesn't state where these people are. Some quote census records, but do not say where the census was taken. Please give state, county and township, if you have it, to better pinpoint where a family was during a certain time period. Again, with names as common as Williams, location makes a huge difference in helping to find your family. And regarding the census, if you don't have a date of birth for your ancestor, but do have an approximation from a census record, please state the age at the time of that particular census. Please make relationships clear. Several posts I couldn't make head or tails of the family relationships. And finally, give all the surnames that are "involved" with your Williams family. I have found several elusive ancestors based on the surnames of the "inlaws" of the family. Good luck to all the Williams researchers!
