WILLIAM Williams was born in RUSSELL CO., VA in 1795 to SHADRACK Williams and Hannah JONES Williams. He moved with his parents in about 1808 to GRAINGER CO., TN. It is believed that William later settled on Turnback Creek, GREEN CO., MO, which later became LAWRENCE CO. He may have died in GREENE CO., MO. A marriage by a William Williams to Anna COPELAND in GRAINGER CO., TN in 1817 is shown in marriage records, but it is unknown whether this is the correct William Williams.
