I am trying to locate the parents of Luke Williams b August 5, 1776 in NC m. Mary "Polly" Shropshire in July 1799. Luke Williams was a Baptist preacher and a farmer, and resided about five miles west of Boonville, Cooper County Missouri. He is known as being the first preacher in Cooper County and served as one of the first County Commissioners of Cooper County MO. I believe that James Williams and Martha Murrell were his parents but this has not been proven and I cannot locate any information on this union. I descend from Luke's son William Savage Williams m. Julia Franklin Newsom 02/11/1848 in Caldwell County Missouri and their son John Williams b. 12/06/1856 m. Fannie Baker Estep. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I have hit a brick wall.
