You might try the genealogical society for that county or the pùblic library. They will often search for a nomial fee to see if he is listed in one of the area cemeteries. They can also make copies of the cemetery listings for that surname and you can do your own searching. Often, there are so many small cemeteries that they won't necessarily show up on-line - yet.
