I think all of this about the past or the present being the more simple time is a very complicated subject. Some parts of life are more simple now and others are more complex and stress producing than in times past. I hope people don't argue about it anymore. It's interesting to discuss the subject, but I don't think there is a black and white answer. This year I think I would invite James Dean (1931-1955) the movie star to the Williams' Thanksgiving dinner. Did everyone know that he is related to one of the Quaker Williams' lines? He was my way-distant cousin. He would liven things up! Have a wonderful holiday! Sincerely, Susan Susan E. Oh yes, "James DEAN", the original rebel, and a life cut short. Our "James Dean WILLIAMS" was born in 1956. He was born with a birth defect, a serious one; and they thought he could not live long. But he did, and he had a wonderful personality, an unusual sense of humor, he was involved in sports (mostly the individual type), charity work through the Lions helping to produce a local variety show benefit, as writer, actor and singer. His death came in 2004, he lost to round three of cancer. His life of pain was over.
