Dorothy, I say yea and amen to this. You go Girl!!! I would also like to say if I could invite an ancestor to Thanksgiving Dinner, it would be my husband's 2nd great grandfather, John C. Williams who was born abt 1789. I would ask him what was his wife's name. Numerous other things, too, but I would like to go back in time and visit with them. Sure hope I could get back, though. LOL Iris Brown [email protected] Our country not in bad shape? With millions seeking honest work in a changing economy that has come to cheating, lying and falsifying records in order to boost stock prices, our congress angrily shouting at each other in bitter hatred, natural disasters destroying homes and lives in vast areas, subversives trying to wipe out our very national history, and crime against unborns and children on a daily basis plus many other inhuman, unthinkable stands this country is so sharply divided on issues that hatred is growing at an unprecedented rate. Always this country with it divided interests has rallied as one in fighting whatever enemy rears it's ugly head threatening our people and it's culture until not long ago. This is America! A land of the free (free to be forced to install alarms in our homes and cars for a hoped for safety), a land of the brave (brave people shielding our children from gun fire at schools and places of business because of berserk, angry students and employees). I believe our ancestors would not believe they had come back to the same planet to say nothing of the same country they fought and sacrificed so much that we might have a better life than themselves. If you are not old enough to remember a time when differences of opinion were welcomed but common sense prevailed and you shaped up or were laughed out of existence; when the bully or two in a classroom was shunned by the serious student and the teacher was honored and respected; when we learned in our homes to obey the law and if the law was unfair to work to get it changed - the laws of our homes were our parents rules so we learned to obey before we had to be hauled into courts and put in jails for crimes against humanity even petty crimes. A time when we had statesmen who had the health and welfare of this country and it's relationship with other nations foremost in their hearts and actions - that was before money hungry politicians took over and put money before our national interests. A time when no matter who occupied the White House congress was the ruling body. That has been quite a while ago but don't ever forget there are those of us who know the deterioration of our nation and our personal rights. Dorothy C. White [email protected] 804.795.4296
Iris, Your John C Williams, do you where he was born? I am currently chasing my wife's GGG Grandfather John Williams who married Elizabeth Stringer and also had a son by the name of John Cross Williams. The John C Williams that I have was born about 1803 in Belmont County, Ohio. Mike --- [email protected] wrote: > Dorothy, > > I say yea and amen to this.
