Hello Everyone, I have all the documents needed to join the DAR but 1 and wanted to know if anyone can help me please. Melinda Ginger is the daughter of Henry Ginger and Chancy Luster. I think Melinda was born in TN. she married Thomas P. Nichols April 14, 1827 and parents names were not put on the cert. at that time. The only information that I have documented fact on is George L. Nichols (gg-grandfather) on his 5th marraige he puts the name of his parents. George was born Nov. 2, 1829 in ILL. I don't know where as it changes his death says he died in Wynoose ILL. and was buried in Union cemetery which I have never been able to find his grave. I have Henry Ginger and Chancy Jane Luster was married in Cumberland CO. and Chancy was born 1780 PA. died 1839 and is buried in Britten Ceme, Fayette CO. ILL. which I have not been able to find. Henry was born April 4, 1758 in PA. and died Feb. 5, 1842 was also buried in the same cemetery but as neither grave could be found a Military gravstone was ordered and place inside the front gate of the cemetery. The only date I have for sure is she is still alive when she gave birth to George is seems like she died because on Jan. 4, 1832 Thomas Nichols married Delina Rhoads. I sent for Thomas Will and he was married to her at the time of his death on May 23, 1858 all information I get also has this as Melindas death date which it is not. This is all the information I have I need a link that shows Melinda the daughter to Henry Ginger. I belive Thomas and Melinda lived in Fayette, ILL. when Melinda was alive but not sure. Can anyone help me please as this has kept me from joining for 10 plus years now. If anyone Knows of any document I can get that shows Thomas P. Nichols is the son of William Nichols b. GA. 1784 please let me know as this would also help as my gggg-grandfather William Nichols signed the papers for Henry Ginger to help him get his Rev. was pension. Thank you, Barbara [email protected]
