My 2G-grandfather was born in NC April 22, 1832. I have a 28 year gap in his history, when he appears in the census of 1860 living in Pickens County, AL, already married with three small children. He is H. G. Williams. His Civil War papers reveal that the H. stands for Henderson, but except for that record, everything else is H. G. I have been unable to locate him in the 1850 census or determine names of his parents or siblings, although, many Williams' in Pickens County in 1850 list NC as their place of birth. There are no other Williams families living near him in 1860. When did he leave NC? Who are his parents? Who are his siblings? Larry
