Hello all. I am new to this message group. I am researching the following family. Rev. John Williams - Born 29 Jun 1796 in Rupert House, Tottenham High Cross, London, England Went to school in Lower Edmonton - Apprenticed to an ironmonger Son of John Williams by the daughter of James Maidmeet Died 20 Nov 1839 in Erromanga, Vanuatu - He was eaten by headhunters. Married Mary Chauner about 1816 had 2 children that I know of: John Chauner Williams - Born 1817 - Married Amelia (or Amy) Crook Samuel Williams - Born 1839 In 1816 John and wife sailed to the South Pacific via Sydney under instruction from the London Missionary Society. They had travelled back and forth to england at least once. After John died the family moved back to England. Quite a bit of information is available on the internet, including pictures of himself and the house where he was born. I haven't found much on his family though. He has also written a book which tells some of his amaving story. Anyone researching these people, or have access to any information that may be of help. Thanks. Nathan Watkins [email protected]
I don't think I have any connection; but I would love to hear about a missionary family.
