Dan: This is probably a coincidence, but I have a Williams ancestor for whom I have not been successful in identifying parents or siblings. He was H. G. Williams (Henderson), born April 22, 1832, in North Carolina. He first appears in the 1860 census of Pickens County, Alabama, already married with three small children. I do not know when or how he got from Where ever, North Carolina, to the AL / MS border. The only clue is that his wife, Elizabeth Robinson, was born in MS, and I have not found a marriage record for them, nor parents for her - they were born in NC (according to census records). Now for the coincidental parts: The first three children were named Andrew Jackson Williams, Benjamin Franklin Williams and Jerome Napoleon Williams. A son born later was named Robert Williams. They had three daughters: Lilly J., Mary H. and Alice Cora. The family left Alabama between 1870 and 1880. They spent some time in Arkansas before landing in Bell County, Texas (adjacent to Milam County.) Andrew Jackson Williams (my ancestor) moved from Bell County to Milam County before 1900. Other families I have researched migrated in large groups. This this coincidence or is your John related to my Henderson??? Do you have any clues about the names of John's parents or siblings?
