Karen, Have you checked the census records & tax records for Person County for the names of Williams & Griffin? I found this when I checked those records. There was only one GRIFFIN family in Person Co. at any one time period. There were several WILLIAMS families, but very few in the same township as the GRIFFIN family, which will lead you to who was probably ELISHA WILLIAMS parents & grandparents.
