I wonder if I might ask those Williams whose family started in Wales or England or perhaps is still there to let me know about your Williams? My Williams are my great great grandfather Richard Williams born 1801 in Wales and great grand father Richard Williams born in England. I am trying to find out info about the first Richard Williams and trying to see who his siblings and father may have been. Thank you for helping out another Williams that is still in the dark., Norma/Ohio Proud Army mom of Sgt. Thomas P. Norma I have been giving a lot of thought as to how best advise you to access information from this country regarding your WILLIAMS' relatives. The one reliable idea which comes to mind is to join the Radnor Family History Society (which comes under the Breconshire Powys Family History Society), the website of which is as follows. Breconshire Powys Family History Society website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wlspfhs/ e-mail: [email protected] You need to be able to search through the Parish Records for the details you need, as these are the only records kept, prior to 1837, in this country. These Parish Records are usually kept in the Records Offices of the appropriate County and can involve a personal journey to access them. By joining a Family History Society for the appropriate County, you would find much help and if you have more details of the person you are looking for, there are volunteer experts who can do "look-ups", and advise. Most Family History Societies issue a very interesting magazine every quarter and you would find many people all over the world, who use this method of research. It is worth looking into. I belong to three Family History Societies - one in Glamorgan (Wales) and others in Bristol and Hampshire. I am thinking of joining another one in Sussex. Unfortunately this all comes at a cost, but can be well worth it. For a Family History Society to help towards finding your English WILLIAMS's, details are: The Federation of Family History Societies website: http://ffhs.org.uk/General/Members/Alpha.htm I wish you luck, anyway. These WILLIAMS's are very difficult to track down, aren't they!!!
