    1. Re: [WILLIAMS] Williams of Warren Co., NC
    2. Deloris, Thank you so very much for all the Williams information you sent -- about Granville Co. and Warren Co. This is just tremendous! I will be studying it to see if there could possibly be a connection between them and our Williams family. Thanks, too, for the links to the maps and to RootsWeb. It's possible that some of these Williams families could be kin to our William Williams. Right now, I don't see a connection, but there might be. So many of the names are the same as those in our family. The DNA test, taken by my nephew, puts us in the "No Match Group", so, as yet, we haven't been able to find our ancestors that way. William Williams and Nancy Haislip were married around 1768, but we've been unable to find any record of the marriage. Their first child, Henry, was born in 1769 in Maryland. Laban Haislip came from Port Tobacco, Charles Co., MD, so the two families might have known each other then. We've often wondered if Laban Haislip was Nancy Haslip's brother and perhaps Elleanor Williams was William Williams' sister. Elleanor died about 1782, and Laban remarried in 1785. His second wife was Rebecca Welch. William Williams and Laban Haislip lived next to each other in the 1786 NC State Census, so there's a chance there really is a family connection there. Again, thanks so much for your help. It is wonderful to have all this information to work on. Ellen
