    1. Re: [WILLIAMS] Williams of Warren Co.NC
    2. Deloris, my Williams ancestor was also in Granville Co., NC. My gr-gr-gr-grandfather was William Williams who died in Granville Co., in 1813. We have been unable to find out anything about his parents or siblings. Would you mind telling me which Williams family you are researching in Granville? I have also been trying to find out something about a Phillip Williams in Warren Co. I wonder if you have seen anything on him in your research. Thanks, Ellen Williams

    3. Ellen Do you have any idea of the name of your William Williams wife? There were so many with that name, it might be easier to sort through them with a wife's and/or child's name associated with him. I don't see any wills for anyone with that name around 1813, so I assume there was none filed. Do you have a date for your Philip Williams? I found a will abstract for one as follows: "Abstracts of Wills Warren County, North Carolina, 1845-1902" - #595 - PHILIP WILLIAMS of Warrenton Township - 2 July 1898 - Sept Ct 898 - Willbook 51/pg.551 Wife RACHEL and my daughter AGNES - all my goods to hold jointly as long as my wife lives, and at her deat, AGNES may have the full share. To my wife and daughter AGNES- the northerly part of my farm, adj. the old spring, the hill on the Grove Hill road, and BRINKLEY. Son GEORGE WASHINGTON- the rest of my farm south of the part given my wife and daughter, containing 100 acres. Ex. my heirs Wit: D.F. CRINKLEY, ANDRE CRINKLEY (Probate indicates GEORGE W. WILLIAMS qualified as exr.) #596 - REUBEN N. WILLIAMS - 9 June 1883 - Feb Ct 1888 -Willbook 51, pg. 285 - To my son REUBEN and my daughters AMY and SUSAN - 100 acres to be set out to include the mansion house. Daughters AMY and SUSAN WILLIAMS - bed of their choice, cow, etc. My remaining estate to be divided into equal shares among the balance of my children, and MARY SMILEY's children are to have one share. Ex: friend JOHN G. BULLOCK Wit: JOHN G. BULLOCK, JOHN H. FLEMING (Probate indicates HARRY CAWTHORNE, JAMES H. BULLOCK and JOHN W. EVANS swore to the handwriting of JOHN H. FLEMING, now deceased. The estate included 230 acres of land. Heirs were REUBIN WILLIAMS, AMY WILLIAMS, SUSAN WILLIAMS, the children of MARY SMILEY, ROBERT WILLIAMS, JOHN WILLIAMS, RICHARD WILLIAMS, PHILL WILLIAMS, MRS. ROBERT JONES and MICHAEL WILLIAMS.) Does this look like yours?
