I am searching for the parents of Matilda Williams, b. abt. 1829, VA. We thought her parents were called Dan and Patsy/Nancy?. I heard that her parents were possibly Elijah and Nancy Williams, but Nancy was born abt. 1818, TN, making her eleven when Matilda was born. Matilda married Vaden Collins and was on the 1860 Hawkins Co, TN census with two children. When Vaden joined the Civil War, the family went with him. They lived in Estil Co, KY in 1870 (census) and ended up in Rockcastle Co, KY where they lived the rest of their lives. So far, I haven't found Matilda on the 1850 census records, due to the fact that I had heard that she was a Gibson before marriage. The pension records stated that she was a Williams, never been married. Does anyone have a Matilda Williams in your line that would fit the information I listed?
