    3. Amendment to the message below: Mewborn, son of Joseph Williams and Martha Parrott/Perritt died in Weakley Co in 1837 with John McClain and John Williams administrators of his estate and provisions made for his widow Mary. I do not know if this was the only wife nor have any information on him there other than this. Mewborn was given land in Anson Co., NC in 1812, is on the list of Anson Co. Militia 1812, found on Stewart Co., TN 1820 census, 1830 Henry Co., TN census and the administrators of his estate in Weakley in 1837. Any other information would be greatly appreciated. Dorothy C. Therefore, it is not known if Joseph Williams had any siblings or if so, who they might be. The first proven record we have of Joseph Williams is a deed for land purchased in Duplin Co., NC in 1754 which could have been the father of Joseph Williams b ca 1747/8. There were so many by the name of Joseph Williams in Duplin County is has been difficult to almost an impossibility to determine where each belongs in what family. However, if anyone knows who the siblings of Joseph Williams m Martha Parrott/Perritt might have been I would appreciate hearing from you. My Joseph Williams left Sampson Co. (that part of Duplin which became Sampson Co.) In 1800-1801 my Joseph Williams moved to Anson Co., NC next to the SC line and died there July 6, 1825. Martha, his wife died less than 48 hours later on July 8, 1825. Their known children were: Edith m George House; Henry b Aug. 23 1769 m Sally Parker, Nancy Herring and Elisabeth Norkett after moving to Anson Co., NC; Parrott/Perritt m Rhoda Herring; Hezekiah m Eunice Herring; William Williams m Lydia Bivens; Lemuel Williams m Rhoda Elizabeth Cuthbertson, Delilah Presson Price and Barbara Presson; Martha Williams m William Bennett; Rebecca Williams m Hosea James. According to the obituary notice Joseph Williams was 77 years at the time of his death July 6, 1825 and Martha was some 2 years younger. That is how the birth years was derived. Any information would be most appreciated and I will be happy to share my research with serious researchers. Dorothy C. White dotwhite@comcast.net
