Sheryl, is your brother a WILLIAMS or a TURNER by birth? DNA testing to check male lineage is called "yDNA". It will be the male line of his father that you will be testing. If you test a male's "mtDNA" (female DNA), you will be checking/testing his mother's female line (his mother's mother, etc.). Therefore, you will NOT be testing his mother's WILLIAMS line. However, family history states that she first married her cousin William Williams, which is perhaps from one of Allumbee (Allen B.) Williams' brother's sons?
