I don't have any information on Jacob Williams but would you have any information on Joseph Williams b ca 1747/8 m Martha Parrott/Perritt who lived on the Great Coharrie Swamp in Duplin, the area that became Sampson Co. He sold land to his son-in-law George House in 1792 and to his sons Hezekiah, Parrott/Perritt and William Williams in 1797 and moved to Anson Co. in 1800/01 and died there July 6, 1825. My Joseph Williams was sometimes called "cooper", farmed and became a Baptist preacher. Like the name Jacob, there are no less than 6 Joseph Williams in the Duplin/Sampson Co. area during that time. I have not been able to prove his parents but family lore says he was the son of Joseph Williams and Mary Mewborn. My Joseph and Martha had sons, Hezekiah, Henry, William, Perritt/Parrott, Lemuel, Mewborn Williams, possibly Noah and daughters Edith (Eady), Rebecca and Martha (Mattie.) Those are the only known. Henry married Nancy Herring, Hezekiah married her sister, Eunice Herring and Parrott is though to have married another sister, Rhoda who was a Herring but it is questionable about her being a sister. All but George and Eady House moved to Anson Co., NC shortly after Joseph and Martha went there. Any help finding Joseph Williams parents and/or siblings would be greatly appreciated. Dorothy C.
