Sheryl, I have printed most of this e-mail, so I can "mull it over". You do have a lot of information. If I come up with anything, I will write again. Thank you for answering my questions. Kay, Thank you for all your efforts to help me understand how DNA works!! Has anyone in your Williams line done DNA testing? What line are you working on? Because there are some unique names/spellings in this line I have wondered: Could they have been Quakers? Could their have been marriages with Native Americans? [Either of which makes it more difficult to locate early vital records] - gen.1 Allen B., Alembe, Alumbe, Alambe, Alembee, Alumbee, Alambee, Allumbee, Alum, Allam B., Allenbee, Allenby, gen.2 Levi, Leven, Levin, Job, Joab, gen.3+ Malkijah, Macijah, Michijah, Makijah, Lige, Kige, Azubah, Asentha, Arsena, Arsenia, Cena Any thoughts? - The other huge clues are found in Maryland and North Carolina. I am starting to look closely at Williams families living in these states, particularly Dorchester, MD and Rockingham, NC. There really weren't that many Williams' in those locations during the 1700's, comparatively speaking of course. - Thanks again, Sheryl N & K Chestnut <nkopportunity@gorge.net> wrote: Sheryl, I have printed most of this e-mail, so I can "mull it over".
