    3. Addice, My ancestor Samuel Williams was born abt. 1738, d. 1816 and was married to Mary "Molly" Williams his first cousin. The lived at first in Rowan Co. NC (which was Anson before that) in the part of the state which later became Iredell Co. NC in New Hope Twp. area. He was born either in Rowan Co. NC or Hampshire Co. WV where his father James Williams was from. His mother's name is unknown. He & Molly had children: James, Sarah, Lucrecia "Creasy", Jane "Jennie", Samuel Jr., Alexander, Edward "Ned", & Theophilus "Offy" Williams. Samuel was a large land owner in the area. Molly was his first cousin by his father's brother Edward Williams & his wife Jane (surname unknown). Edward settled in the part of Rowan Co. that later became Davidson Co. NC. Both Edward and his brother James were the children of Edward Williams Sr. & wife Mary Ann (surname unknown) who lived in old Frederick Co., VA which then became Hampshire Co. VA and is now WV.
