    3. I am hoping this will help someone searching for Elisha Williams. Records for Elisha Williams below the straight lines. Also, Does anyone have information on this Nicholas Perrit? I am searching for the parents of Martha Perritt/Parrott who married Joseph Williams about 1766/7 in N E NC. Children: Henry m Nancy Herring, Edith (Eady) m George House, Hezekiah m Eunice Herring, Parrott/Perritt Williams m Rhoda Herring, William, Mewborn/Newborn Williams, Lemuel, and Rebecca m Hosea James and Martha m William Bennett. They all moved to Anson Co., NC in the early 1800's. Joseph became a Primitive Baptist elder (preacher) and died in Anson Co. July 6, 1825. I also need proof of Joseph's parents reported to be Joseph Williams (Sr.) and Mary Mewborn but no records have I found to prove this. ____________________________________ Elisha Williams died by February of 1755 in in Edgecombe. He left a will naming Solomon, George, Daniel, Joshua, and John, nephew Richard Williams (son of John), and sisters Mary Car, & Elizabeth Daughter. One of the executors of his will was George Bell _________________________________________________ Do we know anything of what became of Nicholas Perrit who was witness (along with John Perrit) to a deed to Elisha Williams in 1752, Edgecombe ? Did he marry, for instance, and have sons and daughters who added to the Perrit/Parrott family ? Dorothy C. White dotwhite@comcast.net

    3. Approximately 8 years ago, I was doing some research in Monroe Co, NC on my Samuel Williams/Esther Slaughter line. At the courthouse there, I found a good bit of information about Joseph Williams, wife Martha Parrot/Perritt and children. However, this family did not connect to my direct line and I did not copy and retain any records. And, of course, I do not remember what information I found on the above mentioned family. You might check at the Monroe Co, NC courthouse for information on this family. Jackie Rhodes At 03:44 PM 7/17/2007, you wrote: >I am hoping this will help someone searching for Elisha Williams. 3. Thank you Jackie. My parents were born and reared in Union Co. (Monroe if the county seat). I have drained everything there and Duplin/Sampson Co., NC. I have 4 file folders on the Williams (my grandmother was a direct descendant of Joseph and Martha. Thank you. I am always hoping for something new but records back that far are very hard to obtain. Duplin Co. records were buried for safe keeping as the British were coming near in the Rev. War. After it was over those records were never found again. Also there were 6 Joseph Williams in that area at the same time and that is extremely complicating. Dorothy C. White dotwhite@comcast.net 804.795.4296
