Hi has this line tested with Adrian Williams"s DNA project? TIA
Hello Kay, Thanks for your interest in this line. We have found some hints about the parentage of Allumbee and his siblings. Sheryl - AFTER DOING A SEARCH TO LOCATE "ALLENBY" IN ALL IT'S POSSIBLE FORMS I DISCOVERED JOHN ABBOTT DESCENDANTS WITH THE NAME IN SEVERAL GENERATIONS AND TRACED THEM TO THE FOLLOWING EXCERPT BY BARBARA FLEMING. - BARBARA FLEMING'S GENEALOGY http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~barbpretz JOHN ABBOTT & MARGARET (Williams) ABBOTT // By Barbara Fleming "It is believed that John Abbott married Margaret Williams, daughter of Edward Williams, in Dorchester County, Maryland, prior to his moving to Guilford County, North Carolina, in 1780, with his father-in-law Edward and brother-in-law Allumbee to establish a new family frontier foothold..." "North Carolina 1787 land records show John and Margaret Williams Abbott living relatively close to land owned by Margaret's father Edward Williams. "The North Carolina 1790 Federal Census shows John living in Rockingham County's 'Civil Division 169' and North Carolina 1800 Federal Census shows John residing in Rockingham County's 'Civil Division 445'. "It is also believed that John's wife Margaret did not travel to North Carolina with her husband John, but did so at a later date with her mother, her and John's first child James, and her brother James and sisters Rebecca, Mary, and Elizabeth." Here is another hint: "Ref: Priscilla Abbott, daughter of Margaret Williams and John Abbott, is supposed to have told her son, James Abbott Lemmon, that she had aunts and uncles named Alumbee Williams, James Williams, Rebecca (Becky) Williams, Mary (Polly) Williams, and Elizabeth Williams. Priscilla also stated that all of the above were born in Maryland, as was her mother. She also mentioned the following names: Elizabeth Mayberry or Maberry, Joseph Spradling, Stephen Tribble and Elisha Barnett. "It would be pure speculation to link any of these names with the Williams girls. It is possible that these names could be connected with the lateral lines. No proof has been found." Appreciate your analysis of the records. I have a record of Brosard Williams selling land with my Blaney Williams in 1863. My Blaney was born in 1821 d. 1877...Some say he is the son of Blaney Williams SR. 1787 d. 1852 but in 1830 Blaney SR was enumerated by himself. So far I have found no definitive proof he is the son o f BLANEY SR. I have a theory that two brothers Robert Williams b. 1740/1745 d. 1819 and his brother George Williams b. 1745 d. 1816 both left wills in Duplin County. Robert's children are: Francis (male), Robert Jr., James, Harper, Branch, Blaney and daus. Tabitha, Patience, Margaret, Mary, Sarah, and Rosa Williams... George names a son Jacob Williams....only male listed in his will. I haven't found who Jacob married but it is possible that both brothers descendants named their children corresponding names...for there are several Robert, James, Blaney, Branch, and Harper.... There was a Jacob who married a Charity Murray but I haven't found the names o f their children. Again I appreciate any leads, tips, suggestions. TIA

There is circumstantial evidence in the 1850 census of Duplin County that Brosard (Brozard) Williams was the son of James and Penelope Williams who lived next door to him. Brosard was 23 and James was 48. Children still in James' household were age 3 to 22. Also in the household was James' possible mother, Zilpha, age 64. The 1840 census suggests that this was James K. Williams, who was enumerated in Duplin County with a son, age 10-15 (Brosard would have been 13). There was also a female in his household age 50-60, who might have been the Zilpha in the household in 1850. ----- Original Message ----- From: <F2bemee@wmconnect.com> To: <Williams@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2007 5:25 PM Subject: [WILLIAMS] Brosard WILLIAMS (1830/31-April 1865) Duplin County, NC > Trying to learn who Brosard WILLIAMS was son of. I don't know any male Williams descendant, but I do have two (female) cousins that might know someone. Jeanette Denton jndrjd@caveland.net (hope this is the an up to date email address) did most of the research on this family and lives in the area around Metcalfe Co. Ky (central Kentucky). Another cousin's mother was a Williams. There were (maybe are) many Williams around Sulphur Well, Metcalfe Co., Ky. I know how important the DNA could be. We had my Dad tested he is a Jeffries, so far there has not been any others tested. This might be the only way we will find out "the rest of the story". The only name I have related to Jonas is a son Allen who died in Polk Co. Mo. Janet: Can you tell me more about how my Daniel Williams might be descendant of Roger Williams? We can't find the father of Daniel Williams b before 1747 who married Cassandra Prather. We think he was married to a Griffin before her, but not able to prove that either. We are researching Joseph and Lydia Williams as parents of Daniel. There is a Providence Williams connection - Joseph's brother. My father's grandfather's brother was also named Jefferson Providence Williams. Any other info on the other two Daniels? Could you tell me what information you found on these two other Daniels? We know our Daniel Williams was either born in Maryland or Virginia. The Williams family that we are researching left Maryland around 1733 and went to Virginia. Our Daniel was born before 1747.
