    1. [WILLIAMS] Williams Family Members
    2. I am looking for information regarding Nora Williams Hunter, Caroline Hunter and Emma Williams Washburn. Nora and Emma were sisters to John W Williams. Caroline Hunter was the daughter of Nora Williams Hunter and lived in Logansport, Indiana at one time. She may have married but if so I have no idea what her married surname would be.A Nora Hunter lived in Anderson, Indiana at one time and possibly in Elwood Indiana at one time. Any help would be appreciated. Edward Jennings Pigeon Forge, TN

    1. [WILLIAMS] Noah A. Williams 1803-ca 1875
    2. Dorothy C. White
    3. I am seeking information on Noah A. Williams b NC (probably Anson Co.) May 18, 1803 d Decatur Co., TN between 1870 and 1880 married (1) Martha ULN about 1825 (2) Lavinie Adams Boren n in 1852 in TN . I am wondering if this Noah Williams could be a son of Henry Williams (s/o Joseph Williams and Martha Parrott/Perritt) and Nancy Herring. On the 1880 Decatur Co. TN census Norkett Williams is living next door to the widow of Noah Williams, Lavinia. A number of these Williams were in Decatur Co., TN at one time or another. A deed for land in Anson Co from Henry Williams to Henry Williams dated 1848 was sold by the purchaser, Henry Williams in 1855 to Joseph White when he was living in Decatur. Both of these deeds were recorded the same day in April 1855 in Union Co. register of deeds office. If this Noah A. Williams was the son of Henry Williams and Nancy then Norkett Williams was his half brother. Margie Williams Baucom has "Marke" Norkett Williams as the son of Henry Williams and Elizabeth Norkett and the lineage in TN shows Nicholas Norkett Williams; however, his maternal grandfather was Nicholas Norkett and I believe this is the same person but need help in proving it. Any information or help in any way would be greatly appreciated. Dorothy C. White dotwhite@comcast.net

    2. prswain
    3. I am looking for the ancestry of Maria Williams, b May 24, 1804 in Kent Co. (?), DE and died the same Jan. 26, 1889. She married Peter Foster Causey March 3, 1825. Her parents are listed as John and Sallie Williams. There are many John Williams in the few local records I have seen, but none with wife Sallie (or Sarah) and I don't know her maiden name. She is said to have had a brother named Reynear Williams. It, too, is a common name in local records I have seen. I have seen a will for a Reynear Williams with a son, Reynear, written 1743 (no date to indicate when probated), and a will for a Reynear Williams written Aug 1773 and probated Sept. 1773, with sons John and Reynear. Could this is the right line? If anyone is researching this line I would really appreciate any help you could give. Pat in Florida

    3. John H. Williams-born 4-16-1833-VA-died 3-17-1890-Monroe county, Union, MO. Married Electa Jane Blossom-born 7-18-1839-NY- died-2-13-1917-Monroe county, Union, MO. Her father was Lorin Blossom-born 1813-Wells, Rutland, Vermont. Her mother was Laura Brownell-born in Vermont. I am trying to find the Father of John H. Williams. Census show he was born in VA. John's mother was Nancy Williams (Maiden name unknown). Nancy was born ABT 1809. Census show she was a widow living in Fairfax VA in 1850 with children-Margaret, Mary E., Anne, Alphina, and George. John was out of the home working to support the family. In 1860, Nancy was living next door to her son, John, in Fairfax, VA. According to my research Alphina Williams married Benjamin Lewin Jones, and Anne or could be Anna married Lawson Money. Any help locating John's father would be aaappreciated. Phyllis Dickerson

    2. What I gave in my email is absolutely everything I have. Those are the last Williams family I have (and the only one in my direct line) The "last" Williams I have is the Unknown Female Williams who married Unknown Male Brown. They had a daughter, Emeline Brown, who was my great great grandmother. The letter writer, Frederick Brown just gave a rambling account of the Williams clan and gave names for those persons he could identify... but he gave no dates or locations. My best guess for location is New York. The time frame is early 1800's. This is why I have been searching for years without success - I have very little to go on. 2. Hello List, I have been searching for my Williams family for years. I have very little information, all I have came from a letter written in the early 1900's all based on memory. But I am hoping something will trigger a connection with others on the list. I only know a couple of first names - the rest are unknown. They probably lived in NY or PA Mr Unk Brown (wife unk) apparently had the following children - all born around 1800 SILVESTER -- supposedly died as a young man. I have found info on a Sylvester in the right time frame but who lived beyond being a "young man". GEORGE - "moved to Iowa, married, had 4 children" possibly moved to eastern Washington and died at age 72. WILL - he may have been the oldest. Apparently settled in Illinois and was a farmer. Possibly a Quaker. When he died his children kicked their stepmother out of the house and she lived in the poorhouse. MARY - married 2 men named COKER and SCHOOLEY (spelling is uncertain) He also had 2 other daughters, one of whom was my 5th great grandmother... she married a man named BROWN. I have searched Ancestry.com and the Family History Center and keep coming up empty...I assume I am missing something somewhere. I have found individuals that MIGHT be one of the above, but nothing to be certain about.
