    2. Do you show any of this family going to Mississippi? My brick wall is my gg grandfather, Samuel M. (possibly Madison) Williams, born in TN about 1820, next found in 1840 in Rankin Co. Mississippi. The Indian connection is very interesting as family folk lore says that Samuel's Mother was Indian. 1. [WILLIAMS] Williams Family in Early Charleston, SC History
    2. This concerns my ggggrandmother, Eleanor Dashwood Williams. I can find little information about her other than she was the second wife of John Girardeau who was a Revolutionary War soldier and the mother of John Bohun Girardeau, a planter on James Island. I wonder if someone who is connected to early South or North Carolina might have her as part of their family. Thanks a lot. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    3. Hello, I too have been looking for a connection to my 4th great-grandfather EDWARD WILLIAMS b. abt 1800 in Kentucky, my information stated he was a FRENCHMAN ....... My information came from my grand-mother and her father EDWARD J WILLIAMS Guion-Miller Indian Applications they filled out in 1907-08 in Indian Territory Oklahoma. This is what I have. Edward Williams abt 1800 ?? Frenchman born in KENTUCKY no wife's name. Edward supposedly had a brother William Williams b. abt 1808 in KENTUCKY OR TN?. Supposley there were more children. EDWARD 1800 sons were JOHN H WILLIAMS born in Kentucky abt 1823, (my grandfather) EDWARD WILLIAMS b 1825. KENTUCKY AND SAMUEL WILLIAMS?? b. abt 1834 in Missouri. (Found Samuel Williams living with John H on the 1850 census, assuming its his brother....could be a cousin or ??) My Williams were found in Ozark, Missouri in the 1840's & 50's some stayed in Missouri and some moved to Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Does anyone know anything about this family. Thank you, Donna Carol Huff <c-huff1@sbcglobal.net> wrote: I can't help injecting my Williams family line into this correspondence. So, if this is the right Hugh Gilbreath, would the 10-15 year old be your Jane Gilbreath or was she married before 1840? I know that would be young, but I have one ancestor that was married between 12-13. Maybe figure out between the years Samuel married Sarah Kitchens(is that the right name?) and Obedience. I have probably just confused you. More later. Karen

Unfortunately my husband is overseas, so I have to do this on my own. Once again thanks, especially for all the work you have done on the site, it is remarkable. 3. Hi Carol, You are correct that the better choice for the testing would be the eldest male Williams....as it reduces the number of generations (even by 1 makes a difference!) and thereby reduces one level of possible mutations. If you need any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me! Kind regards, Adrian Adrian Williams Williams DNA Project Administrator http://williams.genealogy.fm/ http://www.dna-pat.com/ stickamw@earthlink.net Carol Williams wrote: > Yeah that would be great, it is my husband's line, his father's line is all > in NC. 3. I'm adding a name of your list of "Williams" John William born 1780 in Hartford county, Maryland. He was a g-g-g-grandfather of mine.
