I just checked the GenWeb page for Caldwell County, Texas. They appear to have a really fine page. This is the address. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcaldwe/index.htm Where it lists books held by the Historical Society, several appear to be on the subject of Williams. GenWeb pages vary because they are done by volunteers, but in general they are excellent and a good source of information. Sheryl, According to the e-mail you received from the lady in Caldwell Co., if you let her know what line(s) you are looking for she may be able to copy and send them to you. Short of that I will be near Luling later this week, again I will need to know what specifically you need. Brenda in TX
Does anyone know what cemetery, Alexander Williams and his wife Ann Eliza Stephens are in ? Does anyone know what cemetery John Snidow Williams and his wife Nancy Ann Crouch are in ? I do not have death dates on any of them. Thanks for any help, Dale
Hi Sheryl, If you can't find someone living near Luling, TX, you might write directly to the library in Luling (or the next largest town near there). If they won't make that many copies, you might try an inter-library loan. Another idea is to write to the Library of Congress. They collect many, many books and I've found some I've looked for there. One more idea would be the DAR. They have an excellent library and of course, their focus is genealogy. They have made copies for me in the past. I live in Mexico City, so understand your predicament of living so far away. Good hunting! Hello Paul, The book itself is an index in that all 4000+ family leaders' surnames it contains are presented in alphabetical order from start to finish. Beneath each family leader is some information about the family as it pertains to their immigration to Nova Scotia / New Brunswick between the period of 1749-1775. It includes a capture of available information about the ship, date of arrival, birth/marriage/death dates, children, etc. There are eight Williams families who settled in NS/NB that are found in the book that may be of interest to anyone whose lines trace to the Canadian Maritimes. I hope this clarifies and if you or anyone has further questions, please get in touch with me off the list at this email, or visit www.plantersandpioneers.com <http://www.plantersandpioneers.com> .
