I am looking for any information on John M. Williams - b. 15 July 1851 and d. 11 February 1941. His wife'sname was Susannah ( Susan)Patty. Both are buried in a small cemetery ( Choto area) in Concord, Knox County, TN. I have been unable to find a death certificate for him. According to Susannah' death certificate they were living in Springville ( St. Clair county) Al in 1920. I have some information from a Patty ancestor that they may have also lived in Murray County, Georgia. Susannah's parents ( Joshua and Jane Patty lived there in 1860, 1870, and 1880 according to census records). I am interested in finding out John M. parents' names, etc. This is my husband's great great grandfather. His great grandfather was John Boyd Williams ( b. 26 July 1875 d. 13 Jan 1955) who was married to Rebecca Whistnant. Any information would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks. Harriet G. Looking for Benjamin Caldwell Williams last known to be living in Lansing, Michigan. He was the nephew of my great-aunt's husband, Howard R. Caldwell, formerly of NYC and Albuquerque, NM where he and his wife passed away respectively in 1962 and 1963. I have questions to ask about the Caldwell family. Thanks, Helen in California
I am looking for Faith Williams and her brother Jehiel Williams who lived in Lebanon, CT or NY. Faith died 11/2/1842 and was born 1754-1764. Faith married Dyer Sprague and moved to Washington, MA. Can anyone help me find her parents?
Williams listers; Some dates are not clearly labeled so that marriage dates might be thought to be birthdates. As an example: Burrel Hicks RUSHING, b. 1848, m. Susan INGRAM 5/7/1874 & Sarah Elizabeth ALLISON 7/15/1886 Malissa Ann RUSHING, b. 1851, m. Arthur M. WARREN on 1/5/1868 The first one might indicate birthdates for the two ladies. I assume that those a dates of marriage. The second one is more clear. The reason it concerns me is that on another list there has been considerable discussion about the name and date of birth of a certain spouse. The date given would be more logically the date of death. Somewhere along the way there may have been a mistake in transcribing records. The records were from long ago. Sorry to be a bother but . . . fast-spreading e-mail worm, possibly from Japan, is encircling the globe and flooding e-mail servers with excessive messages. Fbound (w32.fbound.c@mm, also known as Zircon.C, DotJayPee, Fbound.b) is 12,288 bytes in length, and, unlike other recent worms, does not install itself on the infected machine but instead runs from memory. Mac and Linux users are not affected. Fbound is capable of sending large amounts of e-mail but does not damage or delete files on the infected computer. Because of the increasing reports of this worm around the world, Fbound currently ranks a 6 on the ZDNet Virus Meter. How it works Fbound arrives by e-mail with the subject line "Important." If the recipient's computer language is set to Japanese or if the recipient's e-mail address ends with .jp, the subject line is chosen from 16 Japanese-language subject lines contained within the worm. There is no body text associated with this worm. The attached file is named patch.exe. If the attached file is opened, Fbound locates the infected user's SMTP server and e-mail address. Then the virus loads itself into memory and sends copies of itself to addresses found in the Windows Address Book. Unlike many worms, Fbound doesn't install itself on an infected computer, nor does it add or change any registry files. Once the worm has been run, it will not run again. Because Fbound encodes all of its code into one line and does not comply with SMTP encoding, it may sometimes bounce e-mails it sends or arrive as a noninfectious e-mail. Code within Fbound contains the following message: "I-Worm.Japanize." Prevention Users of Microsoft Outlook 2002 and users of Outlook 2000 who have installed the Security Update should be safe from the attached EXE file in Fbound. Users who have not upgraded to Outlook 2002 or who have not installed the Security Update for Outlook 2000 should do so. In general, do not open e-mail attachments without first saving them to hard disk and scanning them with updated antivirus software. Contact your antivirus vendor to obtain the most current antivirus signature files that include Fbound. Removal Almost all of the antivirus software companies have updated their signature files to include this worm. This will stop the infection upon contact and in some cases will remove an active infection from your system. For more information, see Central Command, Computer Associates, F-Secure, Kaspersky (known here as Ziron.c),McAfee, Norman, Panda, Sophos, Symantec (known as Dotjaypee), and Trend Micro (known here as Fbound.b).
I've posted this request before, but at that time all I had to go on was that my Williams line came from VA. Now I have a little bit more information and hope it is enough to help me make some connections. This is an obituary I found: "John R. Williams was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia on 16 October 1807. He moved from his native state to Athens County, Ohio in 1835. . ." (Athens Co. newspaper September 17, 1863) I believe this John Williams to be the brother of my ancestor, Isaac Williams, born approx. 1809-1810. They seemed to have arrived in Athens Co., OH at the same time and married women from the same family there. They lived their lives as neighbors and are buried near each other in a small church cemetery. Both were literate and made good livings as farmers. It is known that they were very religious, possibly Baptist or Methodist Episcopal. If anyone has more information regarding this Shenandoah Co. Williams family, I would be very grateful. I'm looking for information on Robert Williams b. 11 Oct 1839 in IN. His mother was Nancy MIller, but don't know who father was. In 1860 he married Eliza Ann Carroll/Carrell/Carell and lived with her step-father and mother David and Mary Love Carrell Justice in Belleplain, Marshall Co, IL. Does anyone know about Robert, his wife, or his mother? Thanks for any help.
I would like to correct a statement about the 1930 census--that it will be at ALL LDS centers later this year. That is greatly to be wished, but this statement is NOT true. The 1930 census will be at all branches of the National Archives, and it will be at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Unless the centers purchase the entire census, I think it will be some time before each center gets this census. Be sure you check with your branch of the National Archives before you go charging forward. There probably will be a waiting list for users of microfilm readers. I have not visited all the branches, but the one with which I am familiar has few film readers--and a lot of human readers. Furthermore, I understand that only the Southern states will have the Soundex for the 1930 census. If your ancestors (or you) lived in a large city, you may have to read a GREAT MANY films!!! If the 1930 census is ever put on CD-ROMs, that process probably will be as lengthy a process as putting the 1880 census on CD-ROMS. My understanding is that that was a 7-year project done by volunteers at the State prison, with checkers provided by the Family History Library. Volunteers, anyone? How are your reading skills of handwriting? E.W.Wallace

I'm seeking information on Leigh Arthur Williams (1867--1939) who was my father's (Howard Bruce Wms) father. He was born in Iowa, but was in business in Pelican Rapids Minnesota most of his life. L. A. Williams' parents were Horace Brown Williams and Caroline Taber. I would like to find siblings of L. A. Williams, and their descendants and siblings of each of his parents and possibly second and third cousins. Also, are there any descendants of Harry Williams, (d. 1960 - Yellow Springs Ohio) my father's younger brother (he married Ora?) out there with genealogical curiosity?
Betty, You wanted to know about Garrison-Williams connections. I looked in our "Isaac Garrison Family" book, and the index gives about 80 Williams names. Some would be wives, some husbands and children. If you can tell me any names in particular that you'd like me to look up, I'd be glad to. I don't know any personally, but the book does have many names of living Garrisons. Virginia
Virginia I noticed your last name of GARRISON, do you have any GARRISONS in your line that would have married a WILLIAMS. I have no idea as to the name of the head of household. >> The LDS' recently released a set of disks for the entire 1880 census across the U.S., and at most large and many smaller libraries with a genealogy section (ie, county libraries as well) you can find it. It is fully searchable. You can search in the overall index CD that covers Williams, then enter the names. It will give you some variations as well. When you get the results, it also tells you, if memory serves the birthdate, in fact I think your hits are arranged by age. I don't have the set (it's only $49 or something like that), but if you can't find it at a library, I would imagine you'd find someone willing to look it up for you on this list. What do the 1900/1910/1920 census records say about birthplace, parents' birthplaces, etc.? Good Luck, Janet Hunter Hi Everyone, Th FHS has the 1880 census on their computers at the library and you can search them for free. The option is there to be able to purchase theym if you want. I have found lots of family through th FHS. They will be getting the 1930 census in Sept. You will be able to search this one as well. Good Luck, Diana
