    1. [WILLIAMS] Daniel Tiller m Agnes Williams 25 Dec 1793, Louisa Co, Va
    2. Hi listers: I am seraching for both children of Daniel Tiller who married Agnes WiIliams in Louisa Co., Va 25 December 1793 as well as sthe parents of Agnes Williams and the parents of Daniel Tiller. I believe Daniel Tiller was from Caroline Co. as he is on the tax lists. His property bordered what became Spotsylvania Co. Caroline and Spotsylvania counties were both formed from Essex, King and Queen and King WIlliam. (Spotsylvania in 1720 and Caroline in 1727) The reason I am looking is to discover if this Daniel is a sibling to my George Tiller of if he might be a nephew of my George Tiller(b 1785) and known to be "of Spotsylvania Co, Va" by 1810. This George Tiller married Susannah Layne of Amherst(although in 1810 her father's land had by then fallen into Nelson Co) there marriage was recorded in Goochland Co at St. James Northam Parish. This Daniel Tiller may have been related to the George Tyler of Caroline Co who had a wife named Terrell(terrill). It would be useful to me to know who the kids of this relationship might have been and whom they married to compare kinship lines. I have a lot of info to share on vcarious Tiller families of this era and area and will happily compare and share. regards ALyce Hart

It really makes my day complete when I hear someone connects to their lines. As we all know Native American and African American mixed heritage is some of the hardest out there to trace. The Freedmen Project should at least give folks a starting point to document those lines. Good luck !! Bright Star Freedmen Project

    1. [WILLIAMS] Faith/Jehiel/Dyer
    2. I have come accross some information which is making my tree very confusing. It has been suggested that my Faith Williams is the daughter of William Williams which would match the dates I have. However, I also have it that her brother was Jehiel Williams which doesn't seem to coincide with being a son of William Williams. I have found the following: Thomas Williams m Rebeckah in Wethersfield, CT bet 1645-1656 their son... ...Jacob b 3/7/1664 d 9/26/1712 m Sarah Gilbert 12/10/1685 their son.... ....David b 4/7/1699 m Mehitabel @1730 in Wethersfield, CT their son..... .....Jehiel b 2/16/1733 d 6/13/1810 m Anne Edwards 1/6/1756 their son...... ......Josiah b 9/15/1768 d 10/14/1842 m Charity Shailer 9/9/1795 I have also found that there is a Jehiel Williams in Lebanon, CT who was a Corporal. Can anyone straighten me out on who is who?? I'm starting to get very confused here.

    1. [WILLIAMS] WILLIAMS in Peoria
    2. 5/11/02 Hi David: The mystery in our family is my gggrandmother, RUTH HANNA(H) WILLIAMS. Actually I dont even know if that is really her name. Someplace I have seen a name something like Ruhanna or something. Anyway, she gave birth to my ggrandfather, GEORGE CHRISTOPHER BENSON 19 Dec 1846 in Fulton Co IL (very close to Peoria). As far as I know she was not married at this time. She married ROBERT C BENSON on 30 Dec 1851 in Knox Co IL. ROBERT apparently took GEORGE CHRISTOPHER as his own son. RUTH(?) and ROBERT had a large family. I have a reunion picture taken around 1912 (my father is in it.....he is about 2 yrs old) and there are definitely people in it who look like they of Native AMerican descent. And Dad talked about the cousins in Peoria who looked Native American. Do you recognize any of these facts? Or do you have any ideas. Would love to hear from you. Can share much information. Thanks so much, Nancy/IL
