    1. Re: [WILLIAMS] williams roll call Suggestion of a procedure......
    2. I too love seeing the postings, but I also have a tremendous time crunch right now as I am preparing for a research trip to Georgia on another line. So I have a suggestion before anyone does another Roll Call....given that there are sooooo many Williams and so many people who don't modify the Subject line to allow quick and easy deletions ::Smile:: Maybe a week before you call for it, post a notice that you will be calling for a roll call on date such and such a date and that anyone who doesn't want to be bothered with the roll call should unsubscribe from the Williams-L and resubscribe to the Williams-D list? That gives enough notice to people who were away for the weekend when it's announced to still change to the Digest. That would create fewer emails for the people who are busy, and people like me, who want to read them all just NOT NOW, could have all the Digest emails to read through AT OUR LEISURE. And maybe everyone could make an extra effort to modify the subject line to give a time frame and location? ::Sweet smile:: Such as "RC:1850-1900 AL?> TX Preacher?" No offense to the Yankee Williams, or the Welsh Williams, but I know my folks didn't come from your parts, and I'd just as soon delete yours right away at times like this. I have NO idea of the name of the Williams I am hunting, so just the name doesn't help me do that. I know only that he is rumored to have been a travelling preacher man from AL. And I'm SURE he was a Southerner. I love the roll calls, but at this particular time in my life, the deluge into my mailbox WAS somewhat of a nuisance. Just seems to me that instead of squabbling and being catty, we could devise a well-mannered approach that would evade most of the problems -- never will make everyone happy all the time, but at least might head off the problems we KNOW are going to arise. That's my two cents worth! And ONE of you Alabama or AL>TX folks has the guy I'm looking for has a "lost son" He might have a sister named Sarah who married someone named something LIKE CALLEASE. Cough him up! HAHAHA Everybody dance and be happy! Anne

    1. [WILLIAMS] Williams in Person Co., NC, and surrounding
    2. Hi, I am looking for the William Williams family and their relatives, who were in Person Co. about 1795 and following. Someone posted a little info about them some months ago. I would like to contact him again, as well as anyone else. I've been told that Charlotte Williams married John Winn Pulliam, maybe about 1795. Maybe in Person, or in Granville Co., or Orange Co.? Can someone help me prove or disprove this? Thanks for listening. Virginia Garrison

    1. [WILLIAMS] Roll call-Williams-Tennessee-???
    2. I am still looking for any connection for Giles Williams died about 1845 in Smith/Dekalb County Tennessee, do not know where he was born or who he married. He was connected to Nixons and Nichols, I think. He had 5 children, all born in Tennessee- Nancy (married Harper), Lucretia (married Lewis) Burton (died 1845 Lebanon Tennessee), James M. He may have had a brother Humphrey and another, John. They purchased land in Smith County about 1818. Any thoughts? Jim Lewis
